Abstract: A system for enhancing efficient of vehicle to everything (V2X) stream communication includes transmitting and receiving vehicles. Sensors capture information about the transmitting and receiving vehicles, and capture environmental information about an environment of the transmitting and receiving vehicles. Each vehicle has a controller that executes an application for enhancing V2X stream communication (EVSC). The EVSC obtains, from the sensors, transmitting and receiving vehicle information and environmental information. The EVSC actively and continuously engages a sparse signing approach (SSA) and a chained packet approach (CPA) portion of the EVSC to monitor bandwidth utilization and computational resource utilization for the transmitting and receiving vehicle information and environmental information, and to actively and continuously reduce bandwidth and computational resource utilization from a first level to a second level less than the first level while ensuring security of V2X communications.

Abstract: A contextual adaptive cruise control system for a vehicle includes one or more controllers in electronic communication with a plurality of perception sensors and a prime mover. The one or more controllers execute instructions to receive perception data from the plurality of perception sensors. The one or more controllers determine a longitudinal incline of the roadway that vehicle is presently traveling along based on the perception data, compare the longitudinal incline to a threshold incline value saved in memory, and in response to determining the longitudinal include is at least equal to the threshold incline value, determine the vehicle is climbing a hill. The one or more controllers instruct the contextual adaptive cruise control system to modify a behavior of the vehicle based on at least one of a target speed of the vehicle and an output torque of the prime mover of the vehicle.

Abstract: A system for establishing a wireless connection between a mobile device and a vehicle includes a human-machine interface (HMI), a vehicle communication system, where the vehicle communication system includes a wireless connection transceiver, a speaker, a microphone, a controller in electrical communication with the HMI, the vehicle communication system, the speaker, and the microphone. The controller is programmed to activate a wireless connection mode of the controller based at least in part on a signal from the microphone and transmit a vehicle wireless connection identifier using the speaker. The controller is further programmed to confirm a vehicle wireless connection passcode using at least one of the speaker and the microphone and establish a wireless connection between the mobile device and the controller using the wireless connection transceiver in response to confirming the vehicle wireless connection passcode.

Abstract: A blind spot guidance system for a vehicle includes a perception system, an electric motor, and one or more controllers. The one or more controllers execute instructions to monitor a trajectory of the vehicle to determine when a lane change maneuver to manipulate the vehicle from a current lane of travel to an adjacent lane of travel is being initiated. In response to determining the lane change maneuver is being initiated, the one or more controllers monitor the perception system for a moving obstacle located in a blind spot of the vehicle. In response to determining the moving obstacle is located in the blind spot of the vehicle, the one or more controllers instruct the electric motor to generate an assist torque provided to a hand wheel, wherein the assist torque guides the vehicle back into the current lane of travel.

Abstract: Methods and systems to implement sensor fusion to determine collision potential for a vehicle include identifying a specific intersection that the vehicle is approaching, and identifying collision potential scenarios associated with one or more paths through the specific intersection. Each collision potential scenario defines a risk of a collision between the vehicle and an object in a specified area. A weight with which one or more information sources of the vehicle are considered is adjusted for each collision potential scenario such that a highest weight is given to one or more of the one or more information sources that provide most relevant and reliable information about the specified area. Sensor fusion is implemented based on the adjusting the weight of the one or more information sources and performing detection based on the sensor fusion, and an alert is provided or actions are implemented according to the detection.
