摘要: A composite article is used in commercial and residential decking. The composite article includes a first layer including a thermoplastic resin and a cellulosic fiber. The composite article also includes a second layer including a styrene butadiene copolymer that is disposed in contact with the first layer. The composite article further includes a third layer consisting essentially of styrene acrylonitriles and disposed in contact with the second layer as an outermost layer of the composite article. The thermoplastic resin and cellulosic fiber contribute to shear strength and compressive strength. The styrene butadiene copolymer, as a tie layer, contributes to an ability of the first layer to bond to the third layer. The styrene acrylonitriles contribute to ultraviolet light resistance, moisture resistance, mold resistance, weatherability, and resistance to warping and surface distortion, and allow the composite article to be used in outdoor environments.

摘要: A system, method, and apparatus for detecting wear in a screening arrangement is disclosed. The system, method, and apparatus can include a sensor that is configured to provide a notification signal when a surface of a screen panel has worn to a threshold level. The threshold level can be based at least in part on the amount of wear that requires replacement of a screen panel to prevent breakthrough or contamination. The notification signal provided by the sensor can be used to identify which screen panel or region of screen panels has been worn to the threshold level so that the screen panels can be replaced in a timely manner. The sensor may be coupled to a conductor embedded in one of the screen panels that is altered when a screen panel has worn to a threshold level, triggering the sensor to provide the notification signal.

摘要: An arthrodesis anchor as a monolithic piece has prongs supporting barbs extending radially therefrom. A neck between the ends may be angled to accommodate final alignment of resected surfaces of joints to be bonded. The neck may receive a tool for buttressing a first inserted end against further penetration into a joint while the second inserted end is inserted into the other adjacent joint. The proximal and intermediate phalangeal joints may be trimmed and pilot drilled, and may be broached with or without a K-wire guide. A first end may be inserted by a tool, typically into the proximal joint, but the order may be reversed. The second end may then be inserted into a pilot in the base of the intermediate joint.

摘要: The present invention provides a photo media has an imageable substrate having opposing first and second surfaces. An image receptive coating is disposed on the first surface of the inkjet printable sheet. A repositionable adhesive is disposed on the second surface of the substrate, but the adhesive does not cover the entire second surface. A liner is disposed on the second surface of the substrate. The photo media has a gloss value at 60° of greater than about 25%, an adhesion to polyester of less than about 200 gram/inch and a static angle test adhesion value of greater than about 600 seconds.

摘要: A measurement operation, such as a calorimetry measurement, is performed using a measurement array and a replaceable passivation membrane (e.g., a parylene membrane). The passivation membrane is used to cover the measurement array to provide temporary electrical and chemical passivation, while still allowing measurement of the parameter of interest (e.g., temperature, in a calorimetry measurement). By only replacing the membrane instead of the entire measurement array between measurement operations, the cost of the measurements can be significantly reduced over conventional methods. The passivation membrane can be mounted on a frame to simplify handling of the membrane.

摘要: A method for simulating changes to the topography of a workpiece, e.g. a semiconductor wafer, as it undergoes process steps. The method may be used to simulated isotropic or anisotropic deposition or etch process steps. A solids modeling system is used to define and deform material solids. Material solids represent the different materials on a workpiece. A plurality of trajectory solids are constructed to cause the deformation of the material solids. Deformation of a material solid is accomplished through the performance of boolean operations between the material solid and one or more trajectory solids. A characteristic of a trajectory solid, e.g. a radius or height, relates to the rate of etch or deposition for the particular process step. The method of construction of trajectory solids in the present invention enables simulation of spatially varying process steps, avoids the creation of invalid self-intersecting surfaces and minimizes the creation of small edges that lead to irregular surfaces.

摘要: An cleaning subsystem for a variable data lithography system includes a first cleaning member having a conformable adhesive surface disposed for physical contact with an imaging member such that residual ink remaining on the imaging member, such as following transfer of an inked latent image from the imaging member to a substrate, adheres to the conformable adhesive surface and is thereby removed from the imaging member. The cleaning subsystem may further include a second cleaning member, in physical contact with the first cleaning member, having a relatively hard, smooth surface such that residual ink removed from the imaging member and adhering to the adhesive surface of the first cleaning member may split onto the second cleaning member.
