Abstract: The present disclosure is drawn to a base paper substrate that is cellulose-based and an ink-receiving layer on the base paper substrate. The ink-receiving layer, for example, includes a metal salt, inorganic particulates, a polymeric binder, and an emulsifier including a hydroxylated saturated hydrocarbon block including from 6 to 24 carbon atoms and a hydroxyl group and further includes a polyalkylene oxide block including form 10 to 35 polyalkylene oxide units selected from polyethylene oxide, polypropylene oxide, or a combination thereof.

Abstract: The present disclosure is drawn to image-receiving compositions that can include an aqueous liquid vehicle and solids dispersed in the aqueous liquid vehicle. The solids can include from 60 wt % to 94 wt % pigment filler, from 0.5 wt % to 15 wt % multivalent salt, from 1 wt % to 10 wt % water-soluble polymer, from 2 wt % to 15 wt % latex, and from 2 wt % to 15 wt % synthetic micronized cellulose. The synthetic micronized cellulose can have a bulk density of from 150 grams per liter to 200 grams per liter, and a surface area of 0.1 m2/g to 10 m2/g.

Abstract: An example of a printable recording medium includes a base substrate, a first ink-receiving layer, and a second ink-receiving layer. The first ink-receiving layer includes a first inorganic pigment in an amount equal to or greater than 70 wt % and a first ink-fixing agent in an amount ranging from about 3 wt % to about 10 wt % based on a total wt % of the first ink-receiving layer. The second ink-receiving layer includes a second inorganic pigment. Both the first ink-receiving layer and the second ink-receiving layer exclude precipitated calcium carbonate.
