Abstract: An emergency stop system includes a hazard switch that is a momentary switch, an automatic stop controller that performs automatic stop control for causing a vehicle to automatically stop when a predetermined condition is met, and a hazard light controller that controls hazard lights. While automatic stop control is not being performed, the hazard light controller switches the hazard lights between a flashing state and a turned-off state each time a user presses the hazard switch. The hazard light controller brings the hazard lights into the flashing state upon start of the automatic stop control, and turns off the hazard lights (i.e., transitions the hazard lights to the turned-off state) upon depression of the hazard switch while the hazard lights are flashing during execution of the automatic stop control.

Abstract: An emergency vehicle control device includes an emergency vehicle stop switch that detects or estimates an emergency situation; an accelerator operation detector that detects whether or not an accelerator is being operated; and a cruise controller that executes vehicle speed maintaining control or inter-vehicle distance maintaining control for a preceding vehicle. In the case where an emergency situation is detected or estimated by the emergency vehicle stop switch while a vehicle is running, execution of control by the cruise controller is prohibited, and when an accelerator non-operation state lasting for an accelerator non-operation time threshold value or longer since the prohibition of the control is detected by the accelerator operation detector, the vehicle is automatically stopped.

Abstract: A road-condition determining unit determines the condition of a travelling road on which a vehicle is travelling. When a predetermined condition is satisfied, a stopping controller operates a braking mechanism to perform an automatic stop process of stopping the vehicle, and uses a steering mechanism to change the orientation of steered wheels of the vehicle in accordance with the condition of the travelling road which is determined by the road-condition determining unit when the automatic stop process is to end.

Abstract: A control device for controlling a host vehicle including: a processing circuitry configured to, when another vehicle traveling in a opposite direction to the host vehicle and having a possibility to collide with the host vehicle is detected in front of the host vehicle, execute an out-of-vehicle notification using a headlight based on a distance between the host vehicle and the another vehicle. When the distance is equal to or smaller than a first threshold and equal to or larger than a second threshold that is smaller than the first threshold, the processing circuitry executes the out-of-vehicle notification, and when the distance is smaller than the second threshold, the processing circuitry does not execute the out-of-vehicle notification or executes the out-of-vehicle notification with a notification intensity lower than that when the distance is equal to or smaller than the first threshold and equal to or larger than the second threshold.
