Copolymers A) containing a hydroxy-functional, hydrophobic copolymer I) containing 30 to 85% by weight of (meth)acrylic acid esters having C1 to C18 hydrocarbon radicals in the alcohol portion, aromatic vinyl compounds and/or vinyl esters and 5 to 45% by weight of hydroxy-functional monomers; a hydroxy- and carboxy-functional, hydrophilic-hydrophobic copolymer II) containing 4 to 20% by weight of (meth)acrylic acid esters having C1 to C18 hydrocarbon radicals in the alcohol portion, aromatic vinyl compounds and/or vinyl esters, 4 to 15% by weight of hydroxy-functional monomers and 0.8 to 3.0% by weight of acid-functional monomers; and optionally a hydroxy-functional hydrophobic copolymer III) containing 0 to 16% by weight of hydroxy- and/or non-functional (meth)acrylic acid esters or aromatic vinyl compounds, wherein 1) the sum of Ia), Ib), IIa), IIb) IIc) and IIIa) is 100%, based on the weight of these components, 2) copolymers A) have an acid number, based on solids, of 10 to 28 mg KOH/g substance, 3) the weight percent of monomers IIc) in monomer II) is less than 25% by weight and 4) the weight percent of hydroxy-functional monomers IIb) in copolymer II) is higher than the weight percent of hydroxy-functional monomers Ib) in copolymer I).

    摘要: The present invention relates to aqueous polyurethane-urea dispersions having a resin solids content of at least 35 wt. % and a pH of at least 7.5 which are prepared bya) forming an isocyanate-terminated prepolymer by reacting a difunctional polyol having a molecular weight of 500 to 6000, a low molecular weight alcohol, a diisocyanate and/or triisocyanate and an isocyanate-reactive compound which has an acid group,b) neutralizing 65% to 95% of the acid groups prior to dispersing the prepolymer in water,c) dispersing the neutralized prepolymer in water,d) chain extending the isocyanate groups with water to form a polyurethane-urea, ande) after completion of the chain extending reaction adding additional neutralizing agent to provide a total amount of neutralizing agent that is sufficient to neutralize at least 115% of the acid groups of component D),wherein the polyurethane-urea contains 1.0 to 4.0%, based on resin solids, of the isolated urea groups. The present invention also relates to a process for the preparation of these polyurethane-urea dispersions and to their use in coating compositions.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a process for reusing the overspray obtained when spraying water dilutable two-component polyurethane coating compositions containing a polyisocyanate and a compound containing isocyanate reactive groups by(i) collecting the overspray and optionally diluting it with water,(ii) simultaneously with or after step (i), reacting the overspray, optionally in the presence of emulsifiers, with compounds which are more reactive with isocyanate groups than both water and the compounds containing isocyanate reactive groups and(iii) reusing the resulting aqueous solution or dispersion of the chemically modified overspray in a one- or two-component, chemically and/or physically drying coating composition, optionally after adjusting the spray viscosity of the coating compositions to a suitable spray viscosity by either removing or adding water and optionally after the addition of additives.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a process for recovering and recycling the organic binder components accumulating during the spraying of a solvent-containing, two-component polyurethane coating or a solvent-containing, moisture-curing one-component polyurethane coating byi) forming a coatings slurry containing the organic binder components, water and a coagulating agent,ii) mixing the coatings slurry, optionally after removing a portion of the water, with an organic solvent which is inert towards isocyanate groups,iii) reacting the free isocyanate groups present in the mixture obtained in step (ii) with a compound containing one isocyanate-reactive group which is more reactive with isocyanate groups than both water and the isocyanate-reactive component of the two-component polyurethane coating, if present, andiv) removing any remaining water and insoluble components from the organic phase accumulating in step (iii) and recovering the organic phase containing the organic binder components.
