    摘要: Method for controlling a laser power used in recording on an optical disk includes: causing the laser to emit a test light emission pattern including a multipulse light emission interval and an at-bottom value continuous light emission interval; receiving the test light emission pattern of the laser to convert the pattern to an electric signal and to thereby obtain a light detection signal; calculating a detection value of a multipulse average value from the average value of the light detection signal, and calculating a bottom detection value from the light detection signal to obtain a light emission power characteristic of the laser on a supplied current based on the detection value of the multipulse average value and the bottom detection value; and controlling the current supplied to the laser based on the light emission power characteristic on the current supplied to the laser.

    摘要: There is a problem that the contact-type image sensor, for adoption in an image input/output apparatus to input/output the image of a large-sized document, such as A0 or A1 size, is weak in lengthwise rigidity and readily deflected at its lengthwise center by its own weight. Accordingly, by attaching a deformation rectifier to the image sensor in a lengthwise direction thereof, the contact type image sensor is reinforced in lengthwise rigidity. The deformation rectifier reinforces the rigidity of the contact type image sensor, thereby preventing the contact type image sensor from deflecting vertically relative to its lengthwise direction and keeping constant the focal length between the surface of the document to be read and the sensor IC.

    摘要: In a magneto-optical disk drive using a domain wall moving magneto-optical recording medium, a test-writing operation adjustment to deal wit dynamic fluctuation factors is minimized, and a reproducing or recording laser power is automatically optimized. A power of a light beam by which a domain wall starts to move is detected, and a power of a laser used to reproduce or record an information is corrected based on a change in the domain wall movement starting power. As the domain wall movement starting power, it is possible to use, for example, when the power of a light beam is varied, such a power as to maximize a rate of change of the amplitude of a reproducing signal.

    摘要: An optical disk can detect reliable address data without the need of checking the validity of synchronous detection of segment numbers. The optical disk has one or more tracks, and address data is arranged in a distributed manner on the tracks. A generating polynomial that generates an error detection code of a segment number included in the address data, which represents location information in the disk rotatory direction, is made different from a generating polynomial that generates an error detection code of a track number included in the address data, which represents location information in the disk radial direction.

    摘要: In an optical disc drive, a laser light source emits a laser beam having an intensity changeable with the amount of drive current supplied. A first photodetector receives the laser beam reflected from an optical disc, thereby generating a readout signal. A second photodetector receives the laser beam, generates an electric signal representing the power of the laser beam received, and outputs the electric signal as a light quantity detection signal. A feedback control loop compares the level of the light quantity detection signal with a predetermined target value and regulates the drive current such that the level of the light quantity detection signal approaches the target value. In reading data from the optical disc, the target value is changed so as to compensate for a variation of the sensitivity of the second photodetector, thereby controlling the power of the laser beam emitted from the laser light source.
