The mixture is caused to contact the substrate in such a way that at least one ligand (9) of the first ligand type can bind to the first receptor (6) and ligands (10) of the second ligand type can bind to the second receptor (8) and to the third receptor (11). Thereupon components of the mixture that are not bound to an immobilized receptor (6, 8) are removed from the substrate.
