Abstract: Embodiments of an eNB to operate in accordance with a coverage enhancement mode are disclosed herein. The eNB may comprise hardware processing circuitry to, during a legacy sub-frame, transmit a system information block (SIB) in legacy SIB frequency resources according to a legacy SIB transmission format and refrain from transmission of channel state information reference signals (CSI-RS). The hardware processing circuitry may be further to, during a first coverage enhancement sub-frame, transmit a first portion of the SIB in first SIB frequency resources included in the legacy SIB frequency resources. The hardware processing circuitry may be further to, during a first coverage enhancement sub-frame, transmit a first set of CSI-RS in first CSI-RS frequency resources that include at least a portion of the legacy SIB frequency resources.

Abstract: An apparatus may include a radio frequency (RF) transceiver to receive a first message over a first carrier in a first band in a downlink sub-frame of a first radio frame in a communications link, where the communications link comprises interband carriers aggregated over primary and secondary cells. The apparatus may also include a processor and a reply message assignment module operable on the processor to determine a downlink sub-frame in which the downlink transmission is received and to adjust timing of a reply/acknowledge message to be sent by the RF transceiver in response to the first message so as to coincide with a predetermined uplink sub-frame of a radio frame. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) to report periodic channel state information (CSI) is disclosed. The UE can generate a plurality of CSI reports for serving cells for transmission in a subframe. Each CSI report can correspond to a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) reporting type among a plurality of CSI processes having a CSI process index (CSIProcessIndex) and a serving cell index (ServCellIndex). The UE can determine different priorities corresponding to each of the plurality of PUCCH reporting types. The UE can drop CSI reports corresponding to all CSI processes except a CSI process having the lowest CSIProcessIndex. The UE can drop CSI reports corresponding to all ServCellIndexes except a CSI report with the lowest ServCellIndex. The UE can multiplex at least one non-colliding CSI report from among CSI reports that are not dropped and hybrid automatic repeat request-acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) feedback bits for transmission to an eNodeB.

Abstract: Embodiments of user equipment and methods for improved uplink transmission power management and scheduling, are generally described herein. For example, in an aspect, a method of uplink power management is presented, the method includes determining whether a total desired transmission power exceeds a total configured maximum output power for a subframe. When the total desired transmission power exceeds the total configured maximum output power, the method includes allocating a minimum proactive power limitation to each serving cell, assigning a remaining power to one or more channels based on priority, and computing a total power assignment based on the allocating and the assigning.

Abstract: In embodiments, an evolved Node B (eNB) of a wireless communication network may configure an enhanced physical downlink control channel (EPDCCH) physical resource block (PRB) set for a user equipment (UE). The EPDCCH-PRB set may include a plurality of PRB-pairs. The EPDCCH-PRB set may further include a plurality of enhanced resource element groups (EREGs) organized into localized enhanced control channel elements (ECCEs) having EREGs of the same PRB-pair and distributed ECCEs having EREGs of different PRB-pairs. In some embodiments, the eNB may determine a set of distributed EPDCCH candidates for the UE from the EPDCCH-PRB set, wherein the individual distributed EPDCCH candidates include one or more of the distributed ECCEs, and wherein the set of distributed EPDCCH candidates includes at least one EREG from each of the plurality of localized ECCEs. Abstract: Systems and methods to encode and/or decode structured super-position coding to enhance control channel capacity are disclosed herein. User equipment (UE) may be configured to communicatively couple to an Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN) Node B (eNB). A first UE and a second UE may be coupled to the eNB. Basic PDCCH may be sent to the second UE, and extra PDCCH may be sent to the first UE on the same time-frequency resource. The second UE may be able to decode the basic PDCCH as it normally does. The first UE may be able to decode the basic PDCCH for the second UE, cancel the basic PDCCH from the signal, and decode the extra PDCCH. The extra PDCCH may be restricted to certain positions relative to the basic PDCCH to simplify searching by the first UE.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for dynamically changing an uplink and downlink ratio configuration is disclosed herein. An evolved Node B (eNodeB) operating in a wireless communications network transmits a System Information Block Type 1 (SIB1) including first uplink and downlink ratio configuration information. The eNodeB also transmits in at least one downlink subframe of a radio frame configured in the first uplink and downlink ratio configuration second uplink and downlink ratio configuration information. The second uplink and downlink ratio configuration information is included in a downlink control information (DCI) message. The DCI message is included in the at least one downlink subframe of the radio frame.
