    摘要: To provide for an improvement in the communication between an external handheld programmer and an implantable pulse generator (IPG) implanted within a patient or an external pulse generator attached to the patient, an antenna of the programmer is positioned relative to the ground plane of the programmer such that when a person handholds the programmer in its predetermined intended orientation a radiation pattern produced by the antenna has substantially maximum RF radiation generally directed toward the patient, regardless whether the person that handholds the programmer is the patient or another person located near the patient.

    摘要: A tilt-resisting member for a wheeled trash bin is provided. The tilt-limiting member fits a wheeled trash bin having a bottom, a back, a front, and a center of gravity between the back and front. The wheels represent a first fulcrum with a first distance from the center of gravity and provide a pivot point upon which the trash bin can be tilted back. The back edge of the member comprises a second fulcrum that can operably replace the first fulcrum, the second fulcrum having a distance from the center of gravity that is greater than that of the first fulcrum. The increased distance of the second fulcrum from the center of gravity increases the force required to tilt the center of gravity past the second fulcrum.

    摘要: Foley type catheter embodiments for sensing physiologic data from a urinary tract of a patient are disclosed. The system includes the catheter and a data processing apparatus and methods for sensing physiologic data from the urinary tract. Embodiments may also include a pressure sensor having a pressure interface at a distal end of the catheter, a pressure transducer at a proximal end, and a fluid column disposed between the pressure interface and transducer. When the distal end is residing in the bladder, the pressure transducer can transduce pressure impinging on it into a chronological pressure profile, which can be processed by the data processing apparatus into one or more distinct physiologic pressure profiles, for example, peritoneal pressure, respiratory rate, and cardiac rate. At a sufficiently high data-sampling rate, these physiologic data may further include relative pulmonary tidal volume, cardiac output, relative cardiac output, and absolute cardiac stroke volume.
