    摘要: An improved surgical fastener system comprising staples and receivers with flanges on the staple legs interlocking with openings in the receiver.Each staple is of polymeric material and U-shaped with a pair of parallel legs joined by a bridging member. Each leg is tapered from a large cross section at the bridging member to a pointed end. There are at least two spaced flanges on each leg with the area between those flanges being cut away. Each flange extends only part way around the circumference of a leg.

    摘要: An internal combustion motor assembly, including an internal combustion motor, a starter and a battery. In addition, the motor assembly includes a capacitor assembly, a capacitor charging assembly and a conductive network, logic and controlled switching assembly adapted to place the internal combustion motor into one of a set of states. This set includes a first state in which the capacitor assembly is receiving charge from the capacitor charging assembly but is not electrically connected to the starter; a second state in which the capacitor assembly is electrically connected to and powers the starter; and a third state in which both the battery and the capacitor assembly are electrically connected to and power the starter. The logic and controlled switching assembly places the internal combustion motor assembly into the third state after it has been in the second state and a set of criteria is met.

    摘要: An internal combustion motor assembly, including an internal combustion motor, a starter and a battery.     摘要: An electronic package includes a graphite-aluminum metal matrix composite (MMC) housing or support member that dissipates heat from an electronic component or circuit and a hermetic glass feedthrough seal between the graphite-aluminum MMC material and one or more electrical feedthrough pins or wires connected to the electronic component. The glass feedthrough seal comprises a low melting point, low coefficient of expansion (CTE) solder glass, such as lead zinc borosilicate, effective to form a hermetic glass-to-composite seal by a combined chemical and mechanical compression sealing force. The vitreous solder glass preferably exhibits a CTE in the range of about 41 to about 78 ppm/degree C. and a melting temperature in the range of about 300 to about 500 degrees C.

    摘要: A closure for sealing engagement with a container neck finish having at least one external thread segment includes a base wall having a skirt with at least one internal thread segment for engagement with the at least one external thread segment to thread the closure onto the container neck finish. A first flexible resilient annular wall extends from the base wall within the skirt and is positioned for sealing engagement with an inside surface of the container neck finish when the closure is threaded onto the neck finish. A second flexible resilient annular wall extends from the base wall between the first annular wall and the skirt, and is positioned for sealing engagement with an outside surface of the container neck finish when the closure is threaded onto the container neck finish. A circumferential series of external first axial ribs are on the first annular wall and a circumferential series of internal second axial ribs are on the second annular wall. The first and second series of ribs angularly alternate around the first and second annular walls, and function both to stiffen the first and second annular walls and to limit penetration of the container neck finish between the first and second annular walls.

    摘要: A printed wiring board structure having at least one chip-carrying layer adjacent a core fabricated of a metal matrix having disposed therein continuous pitch based graphite fibers. The chip carrying layers and the core have an interface therebetween and are integrally connected to each other through vias plated with an electrically and thermally conductive material to thereby provide a plurality of connection sites along this interface. The matrix is preferably fabricated of aluminum. Preferred fibers are fabricated of pitch based graphite. A substantial weight savings over a common molybdenum core printed wiring board is realized due to the significant reduction in density of the core material. A typically preferred present printed wiring board structure has several circuit layers and two chip-carrying layers each on opposite sides of the core, with each of the layers and the core having respective interfaces therebetween wherein each layer is integrally connected to the core at a plurality of connection sites, as required by circuit design, along the respective interfaces. Because of the plurality of connection sites along respective interfaces, superior thermal conductivity occurs from the layers to the core since heat travels through these connection sites to effectuate extremely efficient heat transfer and ultimate heat dissipation from the entire printed wiring board structure.
