    摘要: A low-cost optics, broadband, astigmatism-corrected practical spectrometer. An off-the-shelf cylindrical lens is used to remove astigmatism over the full bandwidth, providing better than 0.1 nm spectral resolution and more than 50% throughput over a bandwidth of 400 nm centered at 800 nm. The spectrometer includes a first spherical mirror disposed along an optical path in an off-axis (tilted) orientation; a diffraction grating disposed along the optical axis in a location optically downstream from the first mirror; a second spherical mirror disposed along the optical path in an off-axis orientation in a location optically downstream from the diffraction grating; a cylindrical optic disposed in the optical path; and a detector disposed in the optical path in a location optically downstream from the second spherical mirror.

    摘要: A differential curvature sensing device for measuring a wavefront curvature by employing increased spatial sampling for wavefront testing with mid-frequency error recovery. The device includes a sampling sensor having an output beam, an optical element to split said output beam, a lenslet array in the path of each beam to generate corresponding sampling grids, a shearing element for shifting the grid points in horizontal and vertical directions to produce plural sampling grids having plural grid points for use generating a spatial sampling grid having a density for mid-spatial frequency recovery. The displacement of the shifting less than a pitch size of the lenslet array, and a measuring device measuring plural slopes of plural wavefronts at each grid point to obtain a wavefront normal curvature and corresponding twist curvature terms to determine a principal curvature and directions. The sensor is a Shack-Hartman sensor, shearing interferometer sensor and other discrete-point sampling sensors.

A hybrid fiber system Mach Zehnder Interferometer- and free-space Michelson Interferometer-based Dual Detection Frequency Domain-Doppler Optical Coherency Tomography (DD-FD-DOCT) apparatus provides higher power efficiency and thus better sensitivity compared to the free-space DD-FD-OCT. Both DD-FD-OCT systems enable functional imaging with the contrasts of Doppler and that of polarization, in addition to full range images simultaneously.

    摘要: An optical coherence tomography(OCT) and spectral interferometry imaging probe for the automatic screening and diagnosis of cervical and skin cancer in vivo. The probe eliminates the old techniques of having to perform Pap smears followed by a biopsy, known as colposcopy. The novel probe is cylindrical in shape and has a disposable outer plastic shield. Inside the probe is a motor driven rotatable casing having a planar optical fiber bundle array therein. The fiber bundle array has plastic light coupling lenslet arrays on both ends. The exposed end of the probe has one lenslet array disc that couples light between the probe and an interior of the cervix area being examined. Both the casing and the bundle array rotate relative to the outer probe walls. Inside the casing is a rotatable motor driven scanning mirror which couples passes light from an incoming second fiber bundle array to the lenslet array on the inside end of the rotatable casing fiber bundle array. The incoming second fiber bundle array is attached to a detector located external and remote to the probe. The detector has a tunable light source and a spectrometer for providing 3-D images of the interior of the cervix. The proposed technique of simultaneous OCT imaging and spectral interferometry and analysis has potential use in either multi-layer optical disk read out using low coherence tomography and spectral interferometry. Alternatively, by employing spectral interferometry, the measured optical spectrum also provides a unique mapping of the recorded bits into the observed spectral modulation. The unique feature is that by simultaneously employing both spectral interferometry and low coherence tomography, the resultant data transfer rate is increased, but the combination also allows for error rate analysis.
