摘要: Luminal prostheses comprise scaffolds having coatings adhered to at least a portion of their outer surfaces. The surfaces are modified to enhance binding of the coatings. For example, the surfaces may be microblasted, laser treated, chemically etched, exposed to plasma, or exposed to a corona discharge, allowing a polymeric coating to adhere to the scaffold more tightly than in the absence of the surface modification. The coatings can be used to deliver therapeutic or other agents dispersed therein.

摘要: A capability for opportunistic forwarding of information using a wireless terminal is presented. An energy limited node includes a wake-up circuit configured to detect a wake-up signal from a wireless terminal where the wake-up signal includes a modulated waveform signal, and a communication module configured to switch, based on a control signal generated by the wake-up circuit, from a sleep mode in which the communication module is not operable to communicate with the wireless terminal to an active mode in which the communication module is operable to communicate with the wireless terminal. A wireless terminal includes a first wireless communication interface configured for communication with a device using a wireless communication protocol, a second wireless communication interface configured for wireless communication with a wireless access node of a wireless network, and a processor configured to support opportunistic forwarding of information between the device and the wireless access node of the wireless network.

摘要: Disclosed are catheter apparatus and methods for deploying a stent in a bifurcated vessel while minimizing flow problems in the branch vessel. In general, the catheter includes at least one non-compliant inflation structure for pushing a stent against a vessel wall in a main vessel and a compliant inflation structure for forming an opening in the stent across an opening in a branch vessel. Ideally, flow reduction caused by the stent is minimized due to the stent opening at the branch vessel. Additionally, other medical devices, such as a guide wire or a second stent, may be easily inserted through the opening in the stent into the branch vessel.

摘要: A flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) for fiber optic modules includes a board with multiple bends, forming a structure with sides and a bottom. The traces in the FPCB traverse from the opto-electronic chips, through the sides of the FPCB, to the module interconnects at the bottom. The multi-fold structure allows the FPCB to support a higher number of traces than conventional single-fold FPCB's, and it allows the fanning out of signal traces from the opto-electronic and electronic chips at the front of the fiber-optic module, thereby reducing the crosstalk between the traces. This higher number is provided with a FPCB that features a single insulating layer and without the need to criss-cross the traces, resulting in improved signal integrity over conventional multi-layer FPCB's.

An energy-limited wireless node includes a communication module configured to switch between a sleep mode in which the communication module is not operable to communicate and an active mode in which the communication module is operable to communicate, a configurable auxiliary receiver configured to initiate switching of the communication module from the sleep mode to the active mode based on detection of a wake-up signal, and a controller configured to control configuration of the configurable auxiliary receiver to operate using an auxiliary receiver configuration. A controller includes a processor and a memory communicatively connected to the processor wherein the processor is configured to determine a configuration for a configurable auxiliary communication module of an energy-limited wireless node, and propagate, toward the energy-limited wireless node, an indication of the configuration for the configurable auxiliary communication module of the energy-limited wireless node.
