摘要： An apparatus for use in launching cement plugs in a well cementing operation comprises a cylinder, a piston slideably received in the bore of the cylinder and an actuator extending from the piston through the cylinder. The actuator is operable by the piston for launching plugs from the apparatus into the well. A resilient damper cartridge is slideably mounted on the actuator in the cylinder so as to be contactable by the piston. A series of frangible pins is located in the cylinder wall so as to provide temporary limits to the movement of the cartridge in the cylinder as the piston slides along the cylinder.

The connection assembly includes a cable having a housing with a communication line disposed therein, a connection apparatus having a housing with a communication line disposed therein, and a weld coupling disposed between an end of the housing of the connection apparatus and an end of the housing of the cable such that the end of the housing of the connection apparatus and the end of the housing of the cable are connected to each other through the weld coupling. The communication line of the connection apparatus is communicatively coupled to the communication line of the cable, and the end of the housing of the connection apparatus has substantially the same diameter as the end of the housing of the cable.

摘要： The invention is related in general to wellbore-telemetry technology. In particular, the invention relates to improved equipment and methods for deploying line in a wellbore. A continuous line is dispensed from two apparatuses. One apparatus is attached to a device such as a wiper plug that travels through a tubular body such as casing. The other apparatus is fixed either inside or outside a wellhead. As a process fluid is pumped into the tubular body, forcing the first apparatus and the device through the tubular body, line may unfurl from the first apparatus, the second apparatus, or both. In this way, stress on the line during deployment is minimized.

摘要： Methods and tools to consolidate a wellbore by displacing conventional cement slurry or any other settable fluid, without any permanent casing are useful. A bladder is inflated inside the bore to act as a mold and to form an annulus that can be filled by cement slurry or any other settable fluid. When the cement or the resin is set, the form is retrieved by straight pull; leaving a cement or resin sheath to support the formation without requiring any re-drilling. The sheath can be perforated if necessary (in the producing zone). Applications include without limitations temporary cementation of mono-diameter wells, through-tubing repair of an open hole, or cementation of a slotted liner in water, oil or gas wells.

A tube that is permeable to a material is inserted into a wellbore, creating an annulus inside the wellbore. Two zones—the annular region and the formation surrounding the wellbore—may be treated. The method comprises the following steps. (1) A setting section surrounded by a sleeve is placed inside the tube near the zone to treat, the sleeve being expandable and impermeable to the material. (2) The sleeve is inflated inside the tube near the zone to treat, ensuring that a first zone of the tube is impermeable to the material, but leaving a second zone permeable to the material. (3) A treatment fluid is pumped to the zone to treat, the treatment fluid passing into the annulus via the second zone. (4) The zone to treat is treated with the treatment fluid.

The zonal isolation tools include a wellbore sealing member expandable by fluid pressure to contact a wellbore over an initial contact area, an inflation valve open during expansion of the sealing member to the initial contact area and closed upon the fluid pressure reaching a predetermined setting, a vent between the sealing member and a wellbore annulus adapted to open after the inflation valve is closed, and a compressive load imparted to the sealing member via a linear piston to achieve a sealing point at the leading edge of the sealing member.
