    摘要: A torque-coupling assembly comprises a rotatable torque-coupling case, a friction clutch assembly for selectively engaging the torque-coupling case and an output shaft, a hydraulic pump for generating a hydraulic fluid pressure and a variable pressure-relief valve assembly to selectively control the clutch assembly. The variable pressure-relief valve assembly includes a valve closure member, a valve seat and an electro-magnetic actuator for engaging the valve closure member and generating a variable axial electro-magnetic force acting to the valve closure member so as to selectively vary a release pressure of the pressure-relief valve assembly. The electro-magnetic actuator includes an inverted electro-magnetic coil assembly and an armature disposed inside the electro-magnetic coil assembly and axially movable relative thereto. The torque-coupling assembly further comprises at least one plenum passage provided adjacent to an inner peripheral surface of the armature for directing hydraulic fluid exiting the torque-coupling case through the electro-magnetic actuator.

    摘要: This invention relates to a torque-transmitting ball for constant velocity joints. The ball is an assembly with a plurality of sub-rollers. This multi-roller ball assembly comprises a center roller, two half-spherical rollers, a roller shaft and a sliding pin. The roller shaft serves as a common shaft for a plurality of sub-rollers (the center roller and the half-spherical rollers), allowing them to rotate independently around it. When a constant velocity joint is under a torque load, one half-spherical roller contacts against the outer race, another half-spherical roller contacts against the inner race, and finally the center roller or the sliding pin contacts against the cage window. The both ends of the sliding pin are constrained within the small slots machined on either side of the cage web along the center plane of the cage. Thus, the sliding pin maintains the spin-axis orientation of the multi-roller ball assembly with respect to the cage window. The multi-roller ball reduces the friction loss and wear of constant velocity joints by providing independent rolling elements to the outer race groove, the inner race groove, and the cage window.

The plenum plate assembly comprises a pickup tube for supplying a hydraulic fluid from a fluid reservoir to the plenum chamber. The pickup tube has inlet and outlet ends. The inlet end has an inlet opening submerged in the hydraulic fluid in the fluid reservoir. The outlet end has an outlet opening fluidly connecting the pickup tube with the plenum chamber. The outlet opening is disposed above the inlet port in the coupling case at any angular position of the coupling case relative to the plenum plate assembly.

    摘要: A hydraulic torque-coupling assembly that includes a pressure relief valve with an annular solenoid actuator assembly that moves axially to engage an annular valve actuator ring to selectively close a pressure relief valve disposed on the outer face of a torque-coupling case. The annular solenoid assembly does not include a conventional armature so that the coil portion of the solenoid actuator assembly moves into and out of engagement with the annular valve actuator ring. The valve actuator ring rotates with the torque-coupling case, however, the solenoid assembly does not rotate. The valve actuator ring and solenoid assembly are mounted outside the differential case. A variable amount of electrical current is applied to the solenoid assembly so that the release pressure of the pressure relief valve assembly is selectively based on the magnitude of an electric current supplied to the solenoid assembly.

    摘要: A constant velocity joint includes an outer joint member, an inner joint member, torque transmitting ball assemblies guided in pairs of tracks, and a cage having windows for receiving the ball assemblies and cage webs defined between the windows. Each ball assembly comprises a slide shaft having lugs at the ends, a roller shaft rotatably and slidably disposed on the slide shaft, and a first and second annular sub-rollers rotatably disposed on the roller shaft. Each of cage webs includes web grooves formed radially at the circumferential faces, engaging the lugs of the slide shaft, thereby allowing a limited radial movement of the ball assembly relative to the cage window, and transmitting any axial force to and from the ball assembly. The ball assemblies reduce the friction loss and wear of constant velocity joints by providing the sub-rollers that roll independently on the inner or outer tracks.

    摘要: A method of computing a belt tension distribution based on a multibody modeling method for the metal pushing V-Belt for CVTs. In order to reduce the complexity of the model, the ring is modeled as a virtual element that exists only as the second order differential equation. The virtual ring concept relies upon the instant locations and orientations of the blocks to compute total length, local bending, block-to-ring friction distribution, and friction-induced tension distribution of the ring. Simulation results show a good agreement with experimental results both in ring tension distribution and block compression distribution along the belt.
