    摘要: This invention relates to a one-step process for preparing polyurea elastomers comprising reaction at an isocyanate index of from 90 to 200 of(a) one or more aliphatic and/or cycloaliphatic diisocyanates;(b) 25 to 70 equivalent percent, relative to the total of components (b) and (c), of one or more liquid amine-terminated polymers containing at least two aromatically bound isocyanate-reactive primary or secondary amino groups and/or aliphatically bound isocyanate-reactive secondary amino groups and having a molecular weight of from 400 to 6000; and(c) 75 to 30 equivalent percent, relative to the total of components (b) and (c), of one or more aromatic diamine chain extenders having a molecular weight of from 108 to 399, optionally in admixture with one or more crosslinkers.

    摘要: This invention relates to a process for the production of an optically clear, light-stable polyurethane-urea elastomer having an onset softening point of at least 130° C., processed at ambient temperature and casted in a mold at an isocyanate index of 95 to 120. This process comprises reacting: A) a liquid polyisocyanate or polyisocyanate prepolymer having an NCO group content of about 5 to about 50%, an average functionality of 2 to 3, a viscosity of less than 5,000 mPa.s at 25° C.; and B) an isocyanate-reactive component; in the presence of C) at least one organometallic catalyst. The present invention also relates to the optically clear, light-stable polyurethane-urea elastomers produced by this process.

    摘要: This invention relates to isocyanate-terminated prepolymers, a process for the preparation of these isocyanate-terminated prepolymers, a process for the production of polyurethane.backslash.polyurea elastomers prepared from a diisocyanate comprising these prepolymers, and the elastomers produced by this process. These isocyanate-terminated prepolymers have a viscosity less than about 6000 mPa.cndot.s at 80.degree. C. and an NCO content of about 3 to 10%. These isocyanate-terminated prepolymers are the reaction product ofa) an aromatic diisocyanate,b) a polyether polyol having an OH number of about 25 to 125 and containing from about 1.8 to 2.5 hydroxyl groups, andc) an aliphatic diisocyanate.The equivalent ratio of the polyether polyol to the aromatic diisocyanate is from about 1.0:0.7 to 1.0:1.1.

These elastomers comprise the reaction product of an isocyanate propolymer, a chain extender, and a catalyst selected from i) solid delayed action catalysts having a melting point of greater than about 60.degree. C., ii) alkyl substituted organotin catalysts containing alkylmercaptide ligands, and which are liquid at room temperature, and iii) alkyl substituted organotin catalysts containing sulfur bridging groups, and which are liquid at room temperature.

    摘要: The present invention provides polyurethane foams and elastomers made with an alkoxylated vegetable oil hydroxylate replacing at least a portion of the typically used petroleum-based polyol(s). Also provided are processes for making the inventive foams and elastomers and for making alkoxylated vegetable oil hydroxylates. The alkoxylated vegetable oil hydroxylates are environmentally-friendly, bio-based polyols which advantageously also offer the potential of improved hydrophobicity in polyurethane foams and elastomers. The inventive polyurethane foams and elastomers may find use in a wide variety of products such as automobile interior parts, polyurethane structural foams, floor coatings and athletic running tracks.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a polyether carbonate polyol made by copolymerizing a starter molecule with carbon dioxide, at a pressure ranging from about 10 psia to about 2,000 psia, and an alkylene oxide, at a temperature ranging from about 50° C. to about 190° C. and in the presence of from about 0.001 Wt. % to about 0.2 wt. % of a substantially non-crystalline double metal cyanide (DMC) catalyst, wherein the polyol has an incorporated carbon dioxide content of from about 1 wt. % to about 40 wt. %, wherein the ratio of cyclic carbonate by-product to total carbonate is less than about 0.3 and wherein the weight percentages are based on the weight of the polyol. The inventive polyether carbonate polyols may find use in producing polyurethane foams, elastomers, coatings, sealants and adhesives with improved properties.
