摘要： Techniques and apparatus to provide improved visibility to user input devices, such as keys, are disclosed. In low light conditions, keys can be difficult to distinguish. For example, often keys have legends on them to visually distinguish them from one another, but in low light conditions it can be difficult for users to visually distinguish the different keys. The legends can be textual and/or graphic. Hence, according to one embodiment, light from a nearby display device can be used to provide illumination to the user input devices (e.g., keys). More particularly, in one embodiment, some light from the nearby display device can be directed towards and reflected from the user input devices (e.g., keys) to enhance visibility of the keys or the legends thereon.

In a digital camera, a video image is displayed on a display device 40 serving as a viewfinder for photographing based on a display video signal supplied from a CMOS image sensor 120 while image data based on a recording video signal supplied from the CMOS image sensor 120 is recorded in a recording unit 50. The digital camera detects flicker based on a video signal supplied from a group of pixel circuits which do not supply the display video signal among the group of pixel circuits forming the CMOS image sensor 120.

摘要： An electronic timepiece has a wheel train mounted for undergoing rotation and a transmission wheel for undergoing rotation in accordance with rotation of the wheel train. A contact point spring is connected to the transmission wheel for rotation therewith. The contact point spring extends substantially linearly through a rotational center of the transmission wheel. First and second detection patterns contact the contact point spring during rotation of the transmission wheel to generate a rotational position detecting signal corresponding to a rotational position of the transmission wheel. The first and second detection patterns are disposed at an angle of substantially 180 degree relative to the rotational center of the transmission wheel.

摘要： A weft picking system for an air jet loom is provided with a microcomputer as a controller. The weft picking system comprises a weft traction device including a pair of rollers, one of which is driven by an inverter motor. A weft yarn fed from a weft measuring and storing device can be placed between the rollers to be drawn toward a weft posture regulating nozzle. The weft posture regulating nozzle is arranged to project the weft yarn into the shed of warp yarns and regulates the posture of the weft yarn under the influence of air jet ejected from the nozzle and from a plurality of sub-nozzles. The rollers always rotate during a weaving operation of the loom. A change-over device is provided to change the weft yarn from a first state of being placed between the rollers to a second state of separating from the rollers or vice versa. A weft yarn slackened portion is unavoidably formed between the weft traction device and the weft posture regulating nozzle, due to a temporary difference in the tractive speed between the weft posture regulating nozzle and the weft traction device. A slackened portion deforming device is disposed between the weft traction device and the weft posture regulating nozzle to effectively deform the slackened portion in a manner to smoothen the slackened portion enough as to prevent any trouble in the weaving operation and any defects in the woven fabric.
