摘要: There is provided a joined product suitable as a cutting tool that is fit for high-speed cutting, CVD coating process and the like, and does not cause a reduction in joint strength of a joining layer even if a high temperature exceeding a temperature at which a brazing filler forms the liquid phase is reached during cutting. Specifically, the joined product includes a cemented carbide sintered compact serving as a first material to be joined and a cBN sintered compact or a diamond sintered compact serving as a second material to be joined. The first material to be joined and the second material to be joined are joined by a joining material that does not form a liquid phase at a temperature lower than 1000° C. and that is placed between the first material to be joined and the second material to be joined. The joining is performed by resistance heating and pressing at a pressure of 0.1 to 200 MPa.

摘要: A coated hard metal for a cutting tool is excellent in wear resistance and chipping resistance. The coated hard metal includes a hard coating layer on a surface of a base material of cemented carbide or cermet. The hard coating layer includes an inner layer (2) on the base material (1), an intermediate layer (3) on the inner layer (2) and an outer layer (4) on the intermediate layer (3). The inner layer (2) consists of a carbide, a nitride, a carbo-nitride, a carbo-oxide, a carbonitrogen oxide or a boronitride of Ti. The intermediate layer (3) consists of Al2O3 or ZrO2. The outer layer (4) consists of a carbide, a nitride, a carbo-nitride, a carbo-oxide, a carbonitrogen oxide or a boronitride of Ti. The thickness of the inner layer (2) is 0.1 to 5 &mgr;m, the thickness of the intermediate layer (3) is 5 to 50 &mgr;m in the case of it being an Al2O3 layer and 0.5 to 20 &mgr;m in the case of it being a ZrO2 layer, and the thickness of the outer layer (4) is 5 to 100 &mgr;m.

摘要: A coated hard metal for a cutting tool is excellent in wear resistance and chipping resistance. The coated hard metal includes a hard coating layer on a surface of a base material of cemented carbide or cermet. The hard coating layer includes an inner layer (2) on the base material (1), an intermediate layer (3) on the inner layer (2) and an outer layer (4) on the intermediate layer (3). The inner layer (2) consists of a carbide, a nitride, a carbo-nitride, a carbo-oxide, a carbonitrogen oxide or a boronitride of Ti. The intermediate layer (3) consists of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 or ZrO.sub.2. The outer layer (4) consists of a carbide, a nitride, a carbo-nitride, a carbo-oxide, a carbonitrogen oxide or a boronitride of Ti. The thickness of the inner layer (2) is 0.1 to 5 .mu.m, the thickness of the intermediate layer (3) is 5 to 50 .mu.m in the case of it being an Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 layer and 0.5 to 20 .mu.m in the case of it being a ZrO.sub.2 layer, and the thickness of the outer layer (4) is 5 to 100 .mu.m.

摘要: The present invention provides a composite material that is excellent in the bonding ability between a cemented carbide layer and a cermet layer is excellent and deformation after sintering can be suppressed and a coated cutting tool having a base containing the composite material. A composite material 10ii is obtained by laminating a cemented carbide layer 11 and a cermet layer 12 and has the cemented carbide layer 11 on the surface side. The boundary between both the layers 11 and 12 has a concave portion 23, and the maximum depth Dmax of the concave portion 23 is 50 μm or more and 500 μm or lower. When the thickness of the composite material is defined as h1 and the thickness of the cemented carbide layer 11 is defined as h2, h2/h1 is in the range of more than 0.02 and 0.4 or lower. By providing the concave portion 23 to the boundary, both the layers 11 and 12 are sufficiently bound and the bonding ability therebetween is excellent. Due to the fact the cemented carbide layer 11 satisfies the given thickness mentioned above, the composite material 10 is difficult to deform.

摘要: There are provided a cemented carbide high in thermal diffusivity and excellent in wear resistance, and a cutting tool including a base material formed of this cemented carbide. The cemented carbide is a WC based cemented carbide in which a hard phase mainly constituted of WC grains is bound by a binder phase mainly constituted of Co, and is used for a cutting tool. The binder phase is substantially constituted of Co, or Co and Ni. A total content of Co and Ni is not less than 4.5 mass % and not more than 15 mass %. In this cemented carbide, the WC grains have an average diameter of not less than 0.4 μm and not more than 4 μm.
