    摘要: The present invention describes a pressure-sensitive hydrophilic laminate composite comprising contiguous layers of a tacky pressure sensitive hydrophilic polymer blend, and a non-tacky hydrophilic polymer blend. Numerous variations in individual layer formulations allow for a multitude of hydrophilic blend laminate composite structures, which are readily utilizable as wound dressings, and/or transdermal and topical delivery systems incorporating a wide range of bioactive agents. The hydrophilic laminate composite structurese are characterized by ease of application, adhesiveness to skin, high tensile strength, mechanical integrity, transparency, fluid absorbency, and highly effective bacterial barrier properties, and permeability to water vapor, oxygen and drugs and/or bioactive agents. In the preferred embodiments, they are further characterized in their ability to inhibit severe maceration of the wound as well as underlying tissue destruction upon removal.

    摘要: Polymer blends capable of forming hydrogels upon immersion in water are bonded by heat and pressure alone to water-resistant polymer compositions compatible with vinyl lactam polymers to form laminates. Bonding can also be achieved by casting on the surface of the polymer composition a solution of the blend in a solvent inert to the polymer composition and evaporating the solvent. The blends are optically clear blends of vinyl lactam polymers or copolymers with water insoluble copolymers of a hydrophobic water-insoluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer, an ethylenically unsaturated monomer containing an acid group, and optionally a hydrophilic ethylenically unsaturated monomer free from acidic groups.

    摘要: An oral care composition including a hydrophilic, aliphatic, polyether-based thermoplastic polyurethane, a glycol polymer, and a poly(N-vinyl lactam). These components form a tacky film having a thickness of about 1 mils to about 50 mils. A whitening agent, such as a peroxide, can be absorbed into the tacky film, and adapted to desorb from the tacky film to whiten teeth to which the film is joined. A method is also provided in which the components are extruded through a twin screw extruder and output to a die to produce the film. The whitening agent can be deposited on the film and absorbed by the film to form a relatively stable oral care composition including the whitening agent.
