摘要: A seat belt apparatus for use in the restraining of a person on a seat of the vehicle includes a take-up mechanism, a webbing strap having one end secured to the take-up mechanism windably and the other end secured to the vehicle body by pulling it out from the take-up mechanism, a webbing detection mechanism provided near the take-up mechanism for detecting the pulled-out amount of the webbing strap and a restraining mechanism for restraining the movement of the webbing strap. The restraining mechanism may be released for a given time by a switch or the sensing of a shock. A webbing strap fold-up mechanism for folding-up the webbing strap in the direction of the length is provided and acts upon the sensing of shock so as to fold up excess strap when the webbing strap detecting mechanism detects that the webbing strap is pulled-out an amount more than a predetermined amount.

摘要: A system and method for automatically controlling a vehicle speed to a desired cruising speed in which after a vehicular engine is set in an acceleration state for the vehicle through an actuator under an acceleration control of the vehicle speed in response to a command operation of an acceleration switch, the vehicular engine is set so that the vehicle speed is reduced and arrives at a set cruising speed at a time of a reset of the command operation of the acceleration switch. At this time, in the vehicle speed controlling system and method, a duration in which the vehicle speed is one abruptly reduced is calculated on the basis of a control duration for which the vehicle speed is in the acceleration state under the acceleration control so that the vehicle speed is smoothly reduced and reaches the set cruising speed. The acceleration state of the vehicle speed is such that the actuator actuates a throttle valve to angularly displace toward an open direction so that the rate of increase in the vehicle speed with respect to time (i.e., acceleration value) is increased to match with a predetermined rate.

摘要: A rain sensor for an automotive wiper control system detects rain conditions to produce a rain condition indicative signal. The rain sensor includes a vibrator, the outer surface of which is exposed to rain drops and which vibrates or oscillates at an amplitude and frequency corresponding to the energy applied by rain drops. The rain sensor is adapted to produce the rain condition indicative signals corresponding to the vibration amplitude of the vibrator. The vibrator is resiliently suspended within a sensor casing by means of a resilient member which is adapted to allow vibration of the vibrator as rain drops hit the outer surface and to absorb vibrational noises transmitted through the vehicle body. The resilent member simultaneously serves to waterproof the components within the sensor casing.

摘要: In an automotive windshield wiper control system, a rain sensor provides a rain condition-indicative signal useful in controlling the wiper in its intermittent operation mode. That signal is integrated to yield a value representing rain accumulation on the windshield, and when the integrated value exceeds a given threshold, the wiper is reciprocated once to clear the windshield. In order to prevent arhythmic wiper operation, the signal integrator is disabled during wiper operation so that the integrated value will not approach the threshold too soon after or even before the end of the preceding wiper operation cycle.
