    摘要: A cooling structure for cooling a liquid-cooled internal combustion engine is provided where the engine includes an EGR passage interposed between an exhaust manifold structure and an inlet manifold structure of the engine. The cooling structure includes a first cooling system and a second cooling system. The first cooling system includes at least one radiator and a liquid coolant circulatable through the radiator and the internal combustion engine for cooling the internal combustion engine. A flywheel housing for the internal combustion engine is provided with at least a portion of the second cooling system.

    摘要: Method and arrangement for enhancing exhaust gas recirculation efficiency on a combustion engine by providing a combustion engine having an exhaust system in fluid communication, via at least one juncture, with an exhaust gas recirculation system and locating a reflector in the exhaust system downstream of the at least one juncture. The reflector is adapted to reflect at least a portion of exhaust gas pressure pulses emitting from the combustion engine thereby causing a reflected pressure pulse to occur upstream of the reflector, and deflecting at least a portion of the reflected pressure pulse into the exhaust gas recirculation system thereby enhancing the efficiency of the exhaust gas recirculation system.

    摘要: Internal combustion engines are described including a crankshaft and at least one cylinder, an intake line for supplying air to the cylinder, an exhaust line for discharging exhaust gases from the cylinder, a recirculation line for recirculating at least a portion of the exhaust gases from the exhaust line to the intake line in order to reduce emissions from the engine, a valve in the recirculation line for controlling the flow of a portion of the exhaust gases therethrough, a turbocharger including a first turbocharging unit for absorbing energy from the exhaust gases and including a compressor to compress air supply to the intake line, and a second turbocharger unit disposed downstream of the first turbocharger unit for absorbing energy from the exhaust gases whereby a pressure is created in the exhaust line which is greater than the pressure in the intake line, and a power transmission line for transmitting power from the second turbocharger unit to the crankshaft. Methods for reducing emissions from internal combustion engines are also disclosed.
