摘要: A method for manufacturing an endovascular support device comprises positioning a generally tubular member made of an implantable metal and having a generally cylindrical wall in a working relationship with a laser beam. A desired pattern is cut in the generally cylindrical wall in order to produce a stent having a plurality of openings and a plurality of edges. The stent is tumbled in a medium to round its edges and, in turn, to produce more rounded cross-sections of stent elements.

摘要: A stent includes a continuous wave form having a plurality of struts and a plurality of crowns throughout the wave form. Each crown connects two adjacent struts. The wave form is wrapped around a longitudinal axis to define a central portion and two end portions located on opposite sides the central portion. The central portion includes a plurality of turns wrapped around the longitudinal axis and oriented at a first pitch angle relative to the longitudinal axis. The end portions each include a plurality of turns wrapped around the longitudinal axis and oriented at different pitch angles, and an end turn oriented at an angle relative to the longitudinal axis. The different pitch angles of the end portions are between the first pitch angle and the angle of the end turn relative to the longitudinal axis.

摘要: A tubular stent includes a plurality of bands aligned generally along a common longitudinal axis. A first band has a plurality of first crowns and a second band adjacent to the first band has a plurality of second crowns. A connecting ring connects the first band to the second band, wherein one of the first crowns is rotatably disposed through a lumen of the connecting ring and one of the second crowns is fused to the wall of the connecting ring outside of the lumen of the connecting ring. Methods of making tubular stents with rotatable connections are also disclosed.

摘要: Catheter apparatuses, systems, and methods for achieving renal neuromodulation by intravascular access are disclosed herein. One aspect of the present technology, for example, is directed to a treatment device having a multi-electrode array configured to be delivered to a renal blood vessel. The array is selectively transformable between a delivery or low-profile state (e.g., a generally straight shape) and a deployed state (e.g., a radially expanded, generally helical shape). The multi-electrode array is sized and shaped so that the electrodes or energy delivery elements contact an interior wall of the renal blood vessel when the array is in the deployed (e.g., helical) state. The electrodes or energy delivery elements are configured for direct and/or indirect application of thermal and/or electrical energy to heat or otherwise electrically modulate neural fibers that contribute to renal function or of vascular structures that feed or perfuse the neural fibers.

摘要: A method for forming a wave form for a stent. The wave form includes a plurality of substantially straight portions and a plurality of curved portions. Each curved portion connects adjacent substantially straight portions. The method includes feeding a formable material between a first die and a second die, the first die having a protruding surface in the shape of the wave form, and the second die having a recessed surface in the shape of the wave form complementing the protruding surface of the first die, pressing the formable material with the protruding surface of the first die into contact with the recessed surface of the second die, and shearing the wave form from the formable material with shearing forces created by the pressing.

摘要: A stent includes a central portion having a first waveform. The first waveform is wrapped around a longitudinal axis of the stent at a pitch to define a plurality of helical turns. The stent also includes an end segment connected to one end of the central portion. The end segment has a second waveform that includes a plurality of struts and a plurality of crowns. Each of the plurality of struts has a different length so that peaks of the crowns that define an end of the stent lie within a plane that is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. Cross-sectional areas of the struts having different lengths vary so that the struts move substantially uniformly during radial contraction and/or radial expansion of the stent.

A stent, which is mounted around at least a portion of the expandable balloon, comprises a plurality of alternating, hingedly-coupled crown sections and strut sections. 摘要: The stent having an extruded covering of the present invention, and method of making the same, provides a stent 112 having stent elements 116 forming cells 118, and a covering 114 disposed on the stent 112. The seamless covering 114 encloses the stent elements 116 and the cells 118. The stent having an extruded covering is fabricated by compressing a stent assembly radially 252, applying molten polymer to the stent elements and cells 254, expanding the stent assembly radially to form a covering 252, and cooling the stent assembly 254. The stent assembly can then be separated into individual stents. The compression can be performed by drawing the stent assembly through a contracting die 154 and the molten polymer can be applied in an extruder 156. Before or after separating the stent assembly into individual stents, post treatment can be performed or coatings applied.

摘要: An ostium stent system includes a stent having a tubular body at the distal portion of the stent and a flaring portion at the proximal portion of the stent. A restraining structure that deploys the flaring portion covers only the proximal portion of the stent, providing a low profile for smooth delivery of the stent to the treatment site. The flaring portion comprises at least one flaring member which each comprise a short segment and a long segment. In an unexpanded configuration, each short and long segment are parallel to a longitudinal axis of the tubular body. When the flaring portion is deployed, each short segment remains parallel while each long segment becomes perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tubular body. The short segments therefore absorb the radial force resulting from deployment of the long segments and thereby prevent the stent from lifting off the balloon.
