摘要: An engine has a crankshaft. A compression piston within a compression cylinder is connected to the crankshaft such that the compression piston reciprocates through an intake stroke and a compression stroke. An expansion piston within an expansion cylinder is connected to the crankshaft such that the expansion piston reciprocates through an expansion stroke and an exhaust stroke. A crossover passage interconnects the compression and expansion cylinders. The crossover passage includes a crossover compression valve and a crossover expansion valve. A runner section is in a downstream portion of the crossover passage, and a helical end section is integrally connected to the runner section. The helical end section has a funnel spiraling about a valve stem of the crossover expansion valve. The funnel forces incoming air to rotate about the valve stem prior to entering the expansion cylinder to promote turbulent kinetic energy in the cylinder air/fuel charge.

摘要: A bend stiffener comprises a (i) a flexible polymeric sleeve having an axial bore for receiving an elongated flexible member and (ii) attachment means for attaching the sleeve to a support. At least a portion of the flexible polymeric sleeve is a polyurethane elastomer produced in a reaction of an isocyanate-terminated prepolymer and a curing agent at an isocyanate index of 90 to 120. The isocyanate-terminated prepolymer has an isocyanate content of 7 to 15% by weight and is a reaction product of at least one aromatic polyisocyanate and at least one polyether polyol having a hydroxyl equivalent weight of 350 to 2000 and a nominal functionality of 2 to 2.3. The curing agent is one or more chain extenders having an equivalent weight per isocyanate-reactive group of up to 125 or a mixture of one or more such chain extenders and one or more polyether polyols having a hydroxyl equivalent weight of 350 to 2000 and a nominal functionality of 2 to 2.3. The hard segment content of the polyurethane elastomer is from 40 to 60% by weight.

摘要: According to the invention, a safety device for a pre-filled syringe comprises a hollow support body to retain the pre-filled syringe therein, a hollow needle shield that is slidable relative to the support body and guiding means for guiding the movement of the needle shield relative to the support body. The guiding means comprise a guide pin, a guide track and a cut-out adjacent to the guide track. The guide pin protrudes into the guide track and moves within and along the guide track when the needle shield is slid relative to the support body. The cut-out allows a side wall of the guide track to be deflected in a lateral direction perpendicular to a central axis of the safety device.

摘要: A safety device for a pre-filled syringe is proposed that comprises a hollow support body with a helical groove formed into an inner surface thereof, a mounting collar for mounting the pre-filled syringe to the support body, a spinning collar with a helical tongue formed to an outer surface thereof and a torsion spring. The helical groove accommodates the helical tongue. Upon release, the torsion spring is capable of exerting a torque upon the spinning collar which causes the spinning collar to rotate within the support body. The engagement of the helical groove and the helical tongue redirects the rotational movement of the spinning collar to a translatory movement that moves the mounting collar in a proximal direction.

The guiding means comprise a flexible arm with a guide pin, a guide track and a separating wall. The guide pin extends from the flexible arm in a radial direction, and protrudes into the guide track. The separating wall extends into the guide track in a direction parallel to a central axis of the safety device. When the needle shield is slid relative to the support body the guide pin moves along the guide track to deflect the flexible arm in a lateral direction perpendicular to the central axis and the movement of the guide pin along the guide track is guided by the interplay of the flexible arm and the separating wall.

摘要: An injection device comprises a pre-filled syringe and a safety mechanism for providing needle safety for an injection needle of the syringe. The syringe comprises a barrel containing the liquid and a stopper disposed within the barrel. The needle is attached to a distal end of the barrel. The safety mechanism comprises a substantially cylindrical housing adapted to contain the syringe, a plunger to expel the liquid through the injection needle, and an energizable biasing member arranged between the housing and the syringe. The energized biasing member is capable of biasing the syringe with respect to the housing in a proximal direction and a retaining mechanism for retaining the syringe with respect to the housing in a first retracted position in an advanced position and in a second retracted position.
