    摘要: An implantable lead assembly for a body implantable medical system adapted to transmit electrical signals between a proximal end portion of the lead assembly and a distal end portion of the lead assembly to thereby stimulate selected body tissue includes an elongated insulative sheath of flexible resilient material having at least one longitudinally extending lumen, an electrical conductor received within the lumen of the insulative sheath and extending between a proximal end and a distal end, and at least one elongated super plastic element slidably received within the lumen of the insulative sheath, the super plastic element being bendable to configure the lead assembly to negotiate tortuous turns in the vasculature of the body. An electrical connector is coupled to the proximal end of the conductor for releasable attachment to a stimulating pulse generator and an electrode is coupled to the distal end of the conductor.

    摘要: An implantable cardiac therapeutic device having at least one implantable sensor arranged to sense at least one physiologic characteristic of a patient, an implantable therapeutic agent delivery assembly wherein the delivery assembly and a therapeutic agent to be delivered are configured for placement in a patient's pericardial space, and a controller in communication with the at least one implantable sensor and with the therapeutic agent delivery assembly wherein the controller evaluates the at least one physiologic characteristic for indications of a condition indicating administration of the therapeutic agent and wherein, upon detection of such indications, induces the therapeutic agent delivery assembly to deliver the agent. Also an implantable patient lead adapted for connection to a separable implantable therapy device, the lead including an implantable therapeutic agent delivery assembly wherein the delivery assembly and a therapeutic agent to be delivered are configured for placement in a patient's pericardial space.

    摘要: Systems and methods for positioning implanted devices in a patient are disclosed. A method in accordance with a particular embodiment includes, for each of a plurality of patients, receiving a target location from which to deliver a modulation signal to the patient's spinal cord. The method further includes implanting a signal delivery device within a vertebral foramen of each patient, and positioning an electrical contact carried by the signal delivery device to be within ±5 mm. of the target location, without the use of fluoroscopy. The method can still further include, for each of the plurality of patients, activating the electrical contact to modulate neural activity at the spinal cord. In further particular embodiments, RF signals, ultrasound, magnetic fields, and/or other techniques are used to locate the signal delivery device.
