Abstract:
An electronic control device for integration into mechanical systems is described and provided with an operating program hierarchically broken down into a plurality of program levels. Some of the program levels are non-reprogrammable and some are reprogrammable. In this manner the flexibility of the electronic control device is greatly enhanced.

Abstract:
A system for assisted generation of composite applications which are composed of instantiable components includes a portal system executing in memory of a computer to:a) dynamically access a data source of one or more components being potentially suitable for being used within the composite application,b) parse the data source for a predetermined searched component according to a predetermined functionality specification standard,c) rank found components according to predetermined ranking criteria,d) define a list of selected usable components from the ranking,e) store at least a subset of the selected components locally, and,f) automatically deploy the composite application from the selected components.
Abstract:
A predetermined business task of a composite application can be fulfilled. The composite application can include a set of components. The composite application is instantiated by a template means and a predefined collaborative context module controls the interaction of the set of components during the runtime of the composite application. A set of components fulfilling individual services on individual different server systems is leveraged by the composite application. During the instantiation of the composite application from a template, the referenced components (as types) are instantiated leading to runtime instances of these components. The interaction of the different components is controlled on individual different server systems utilizing a primary context module. The primary context module communicates with an appropriate collaborative module implemented locally on the respective set of servers, where the local context modules act as secondary context modules in relation to the primary context modules. For each of the secondary context modules, local components communicate to control the interaction of components.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for monitoring and/or regulating fuel cells, in particular comprising determining the composition of the operating gases of the fuel cells. The method comprises the following steps: introducing the gas mixture to be analyzed into a measuring cell (1); producing an arc in the measuring cell (1); absorbing the radiation emitted by the arc; optical filtering of the emitted radiation and/or spectral decomposition of the emitted radiation; converting the emitted radiation into an electric signal; evaluating the electric signal.
Abstract:
A method for producing adhesive-bound book blocks from gathered signatures for which the individual signatures forming a non-bound book block are supplied while positioned on the spine on a transfer section to an opened conveying clamp on a perfect binder and are subsequently held while clamped in by the closed conveying clamp along the flat outer surfaces. The gathered signatures of a book block are released in an additional conveying section from the conveying clamp in order to be aligned while guided. Prior to leaving the conveying section for aligning the signatures, the signatures are clamped in once more by the conveying clamps along the flat outer surfaces, so that they can be conveyed to further processing locations.
Abstract:
In a radiation detector (10) for a time of flight positron emission tomography (PET) scanner (2), a radiation sensitive member (20) generates a signal (22) indicative of a radiation detection event. A time to digital converter (34) includes digital delay elements (40) operatively interconnected as a ring oscillator (36, 36′) and readout circuitry (50, 52, 60, 82, 84, 86, 88) configured to generate a timestamp for the radiation detection event based at least on a state of the ring oscillator when the signal is generated. Delay trim elements (46) operatively connected to the digital delay elements set a substantially common delay for the digital delay elements. Additionally or alternatively, the digital delay elements (40) include readout buffers (48′) having transition times substantially longer than a delay of the digital delay elements, analog to digital converters (82, 84) digitize values of the delay elements, and decoding circuitry (86, 88) computes the state of the ring oscillator (36′) based on the digitized values.
Abstract:
A glue applicator for applying an adhesive to the spine of a book block or to adjacent areas of a book block of stacked printed sheets being conducted past the glue applicator includes a tank holding liquid adhesive, into which at least one glue applicator roll dips to take up the adhesive and to transfer it to the spine of the book block, the roll being driven in the same travel direction as the book block, wherein the glue applicator roll works together with a doctor blade which is installed above the surface of the glue in the tank, and wherein the doctor blade determines the thickness of the adhesive film to be transferred to the spine of the book block through variation of its distance from the glue applicator roll, and where an actuating element for the doctor blade is positively connected to a cam disk, which is driven by a motor.
