摘要:
An image forming apparatus forms a toner image on a toner image bearing body and the toner image is transferred onto a recording medium. An image forming section forms the toner image on the toner image bearing body, which may be a transfer belt. A reading section optically reads the toner image formed on the image bearing body. A covering section is provided between the reading section and the toner image bearing body. The covering section can move between an opening position, where the covering section covers the reading section, and a closing position, where the covering section does not cover the reading section. A drive mechanism drives the covering section to move between the opening position and the closing position. An adjustment section adjusts the reading section when the covering section is at the closing position. The covering section includes a reflection member attached thereto.

A toner cartridge detachably is attached to an image forming apparatus. The toner cartridge includes a toner chamber that holds toner therein and a toner-agitating mechanism that agitates the toner in the toner chamber. The mechanism includes a crank shaft that includes a first crank pin and a second crank pin, the crank shaft being rotatably supported in the toner chamber. A rod has a first end rotatably coupled to the second crank pin and a second end slidably inserted in a guide path provided above the toner chamber. The second end has a permanent magnet or a magnetic flux sensitive element attached thereto. The rod moves upward and downward when the crank shaft is driven in rotation. A detection mechanism on the image apparatus side detects the magnetic flux or the permanent magnet.

The molding die set includes: a first molding die having a first molding chase, a cavity piece, supported by the first molding chase, movably supported by the first molding chase and enclosing the cavity piece; a second molding die having a second molding chase, a work supporting section biased and supported by the second molding chase and on which a work will be mounted, and a center insert located adjacent to the work supporting section; and a pot being provided to one of the first molding die and the second molding die, the pot feeding resin for molding the work. The second molding die has a thickness adjusting mechanism, which makes the work supporting section absorb thickness variation of the work and brings the work into contact with the movable clamper when the work is clamped with the movable clamper of the first molding die.

A reinking color ribbon cassette for a printer is described. The cassette has plural, independent ink ribbons of different colors - such as the primary colors and a black color - and a ribbon feeder for driving only the ink ribbon of a selected color to perform printing through the ink ribbon of the selected color. The ink ribbons can be used repeatedly by feeding their corresponding inks by a color ink feeder. The color ink feeder is constructed of ink tanks, in which inks of the different colors are contained respectively, and ink feeding members. These plural ink ribbons, color ink feeder and ribbon feeder are enclosed within a cassette casing constructed of a lower cover and an upper cover.

A multicolor ink ribbon for use with a dot impact printer includes at least three layers. The layers include an ink layer composed of at least one colored ink ribbon having a first surface which forms a printing surface of the multicolor ink ribbon, an intermediate barrier layer having a first surface which covers a second surface of the ink layer, for preventing ink penetration from the ink layer therethrough, and a protective layer having a first surface which covers a second surface of the intermediate barrier layer and having a second surface which forms a printing head surface of the multicolor ribbon. The intermediate barrier layer prevents ink penetration from the ink layer into the protective layer, and the protective layer protects the intermediate barrier layer from physical deterioration due to impact from a printing head during use.

A method of forming an electrostatic latent image includes printing operation and toner recovering operation. The printing operation includes charging, forming an electrostatic latent image, developing, and transferring operations. The toner recovering operation includes the step of charging the photosensitive drum in timed relation to the rotation of the photosensitive drum after printing operation so that reversely charged toner deposited on the charging roller migrates from the charging roller to the photosensitive drum. The toner migrated from the charging roller to the photosensitive drum is recovered into a developer. An apparatus for forming an image includes a charging roller, photosensitive drum, developing roller, and transfer roller. The apparatus further includes a reversely-charged-toner recovering device which causes the photosensitive drum to be charged in timed relation to the rotation of the photosensitive drum after printing operation so that the reversely charged toner deposited on the charging roller migrates to the photosensitive drum. The developer recovers the toner which has migrated to the photosensitive drum from the charging roller.

A color image recording apparatus includes a mechanism that switches a plurality of image forming sections between image forming positions where the photoconductive drums are in contact with a transport belt and non-image forming positions where the photoconductive drums are not in contact with the transport belt. A pair of slide links extend and are slidable in a direction in which the image forming sections are aligned. Each of the slide links has first guide surfaces and second guide surfaces. When the image forming sections are at the image forming positions, supporting shafts of corresponding one of image forming sections rest on the first guide surfaces. When the image forming sections at the non-image forming positions, the supporting shafts of corresponding one of image forming sections rest on the second guide surfaces.
