Abstract:
In a starting clutch, an oil path for operating the clutch is provided independently of an oil path for cooling a frictional surface. That is, there is provided an oil path exclusively for cooling the frictional surface. Accordingly, a necessary amount of oil can be supplied to the frictional surface, which can thus be cooled efficiently.
Abstract:
A torque converter having a lockup mechanism makes it possible to positively and forcibly suppress the frictional heat and others generated on the frictional surfaces of the lockup clutch and its counterpart while the lockup clutch is in operation, particularly in a slipping state. Hence, the life of the lockup clutch or that of the torque converter as a whole is prolonged. In this torque converter having the lockup mechanism, a hydraulic control mechanism is provided for maintaining the difference of pressure substantially at a constant level and changing the flow rate of a fluid to be supplied to the frictional surface of the lockup clutch in order to control the slipping state of the lockup clutch. Oil grooves are cut on the frictional member of the lockup clutch.
Abstract:
In addition to a first oil pump directly connected to an engine, a second oil pump is provided which is driven by an electric motor. Accordingly, a start clutch engaging pressure is applied through first and second solenoid-operated valves. The electric motor-driven pump is of the constant pressure type, and therefore its start, at the start of the automobile, can be achieved with a simple control program. After the start of the automobile, the solenoid-operated valve is switched over to the other one, so that the oil pressure is applied from the first oil pump directly connected to the engine, whereby the battery power consumption is minimized. This oil circuit is applied to various kinds of friction engagement clutches.
Abstract:
A taking lens of a camera includes first and second lens elements. A lens holding frame retains the first lens element on a lens base or a front surface of a shutter unit. In the lens holding frame, a holding frame body is disposed in front of the first lens element. Arm portions are formed to project from a periphery of the holding frame body, have a distance to the lens base when in a free state, are bent resiliently by a retention pin or screws, and are secured to the lens base. Thus, the first lens element is squeezed tightly between the lens base and the holding frame body.
Abstract:
A light emitting apparatus for a bicycle includes a pulse generator for generating pulses having a predetermined period and a predetermined duty cycle, a light emitter for emitting light when a voltage is applied, and a voltage applying apparatus for applying a voltage to the light emitting apparatus in response to the generated pulses, and the pulse generator generates pulses which allows the light emitted from the light emitter to be visually recognized as light continuously emitted, by a person. Namely, the voltage is applied intermittently to the light emitter, such that the light emission by the light emitter can be visually recognized as light continuously emitted. Therefore, by the light emitting apparatus for the bicycle, brighter light can be emitted and power consumption by the circuit as a whole can be reduced, as compared with the prior art.
Abstract:
A battery case accommodating a battery is inserted into a battery case housing of a head lamp body. As the battery case is inserted, one protrusion of a stopper held by a stopper holding portion of the housing moves downward through an opening. When accommodation of the battery case is completed, another protrusion of the stopper as well as the one protrusion returns upward, and the former protrusion is fitted in a recess of the battery case to prevent movement of the battery case. When the head lamp body is attached to a bracket fixed on a bicycle in that state, a protrusion of the bracket prevents movement of the one protrusion of the stopper.
Abstract:
A vibration electric power generator includes an iron core having a coil wound therearound, a magnet member relatively moved with respect to the iron core by vibrations caused during running of a bicycle; and a nonmagnetic member fixed to the iron core and being in close contact with the magnet member. A plurality of magnets are stacked such that identical poles face each other. Switching is realized, by the vibrations caused during the running of the bicycle, between a state in which a first protrusion of the iron core is attracted and brought into contact with a north pole magnetism collecting and permeative plate and a second protrusion of the iron core is attracted and brought into contact with a south pole magnetism collecting and permeative plate and a state in which the second protrusion is attracted and brought into contact with a north pole magnetism collecting and permeative plate and the first protrusion is attracted and brought into contact with a south pole magnetism collecting and permeative plate.
Abstract:
A starting clutch includes a planetary mechanism; a first clutch for outputting a torque to an outer diameter portion of the planetary mechanism; a second clutch for outputting the torque to an intermediate portion of the planetary mechanism; and a lock mechanism for locking a reactive force from an inner diameter portion of the planetary mechanism.
Abstract:
A headlight allowing easy adjustment of a delicate light distribution pattern during manufacturing is provided. The headlight includes a light source, a reflector surrounding the light source from its backside to reflect light incident from the light source frontward, and a front lens located in front of the light source and the reflector. The front lens is provided with at least two portions different in light transmission characteristic from each other.
Abstract:
A one-way clutch comprises an outer race where inner surface is formed with a raceway surface and an annular groove; an inner race whose outer surface is formed with a raceway surface; a plurality of wedge members interposed between the outer and inner races about the annular space defined therebetween; and a retainer comprising an outwardly extended annular projected portion engageable with the annular groove and a pushing member for causing the annular projected portion to elastically press against the annular groove. The retainer member is interposed between the outer and inner races so as to retain the plurality of wedge members, the outer race is provided with a stopper for limiting the displacement of the projected portion after the engagement thereof with the annular grove. The outer diameter of the projected portion is greater than the inner diameter of the raceway surface of the outer race.
