摘要: In view of the problem that an existing technique can detect a failure in an arm circuit for each phase and continue motor drive by only a normal phase, but a brake torque is generated due to a closed circuit of the faulty phase, an inverter apparatus for polyphase AC motor drive is provided that includes: a first power supply switching device in a power supply line to an inverter circuit; a second power supply switching device for each phase in the arm circuit of the inverter circuit, and a motor relay switching device in an output path from each phase, wherein the parasitic diodes of the first power supply switching device and second power supply switching device have directional characteristics different from each other, which prevent generation of a closed circuit.

摘要: The electric power steering device includes a motor and a control unit integrated coaxially therewith at an output shaft end of the motor. The motor has two sets of windings independently of each other. The control unit includes two inverter circuits having a plurality of switching elements for supplying currents, and two control circuits for respectively outputting drive signals to the inverter circuits. The inverter circuits are formed by power modules, and have detection terminals for detecting voltages between both ends of shunt resistors for detecting currents. Shield walls for shielding noise are provided to a heatsink for supporting the power modules and control boards forming the control circuits. The shield walls support the control boards.

First and second sensors are arranged on two radial lines different from each other, respectively, out of three radial lines dividing a circumference about the rotary shaft of the sensor magnet into six equal parts. An angle calculation unit is configured to carry out calculation so that 3n-th (n is a natural number) order harmonic components out of odd-order harmonic components of each of the sine signal and the cosine signal output by the first and second sensors cancel one another, to thereby calculate the rotation angle.

The failure determiner determines malfunction of the detector when the failure is determined with use of at least one of: failure determination using a sum of the first and second sine-wave-signals and a sum of the first and second cosine-wave-signals; or failure determination using a sum of squares or a square root of a sum of squares of the sine-wave-signal and the cosine-wave-signal.
