A coil coating composition consisting essentially of (A) a binder component comprising a mixture of a linear polyester resin and a branched polyester resin, having a hydroxyl value of 40 to 90, and (B) a crosslinking component selected from melamine resin, at least part of which is methyl methylolated melamine, or isocyanate compound. Said polyester resins are herein defined. The coating composition is useful in a coil coating and results in a coating with excellent properties in respect of hardness, bending processability, fastness to boiling water, weather resistance, chemical resistance, marker stain resistance and the like.

There is devised a novel acryl resin in which an unsaturated group introduced in an alkali soluble resin is placed at a longer distance from the resin skeleton of the alkali soluble resin, the mobility of the unsaturated group is promoted and the number of the unsaturated double bonds is increased; therefore it allows crosslinking reaction to occur easily and a functional resin portion which imparts a specific function, in particular, function of suppressing polymerization inhibition due to oxygen by introduction of an active methylene group is provided at a resin portion existing between the acryl resin skeleton and the unsaturated double bond, and a photosensitive resin composition containing thereof is to be provided. A photosensitive resin composition comprising an alkali soluble resin, an ethylenically unsaturated compound, a near infrared absorbing dye, a compound containing a halomethyl group and a compound containing an organoboron anion, wherein the alkali soluble resin comprises an acryl resin having one or more of pendant groups in which both terminals of a diol compound have been blocked with isophorone diisocyanates and then (meth)acryloyl has been added, and, an image forming material comprising a substrate, and a photosensitive layer formed by the photosensitive resin composition on the substrate, as well as an image forming method.

Resinous composition for use in coating comprising a hexahydrophthalic acid or anhydride thereof whose acidic groups are capable of developing a resinous acid value and etherified aminoformaldehyde resin. This resinous composition is characterized by possessing all the advantages of oil-free polyester resin compositions such as good weather resistance mechanical properties in the coating, interlaminar adhesion and the like, and furthermore the composition inter alia, has excellent weather resistance because of its modification with saturated alicyclic acids and the curing properties are enhanced because of the control of the acidic groups which develops a resinous acid value. The invention also provides a coating composition, containing as a vehicle, the aforementioned resinous composition.

A resinous composition for coating use which is obtained by the reaction of base resin having both hydroxyl and carboxyl groups with an organopolysiloxane resin and with an alkylene imine compound in any successive order. The invention also provides a coating composition containing as resinous vehicle the abovesaid silicon and alkylene imine modified resin or a combination of silicon modified resin and polyalkylen imine. The present coating composition is characterized by having excellent recoatability and weathering resistance.
