The invention relates to a composite particle comprising 2 to 98% by weight of a base resin having softending point of -10.degree. to 120.degree. C. and a number average molecular weight of 600 or more and 98 to 2% by weight of an anisotropic crystalline polymer having a phase transition point of 60.degree. to 230.degree. C. and a number average molecular weight of 600 to 10,000 and capable for forming an anisotropic molten phase, the polymer having the specific structure in which a repeating unit of the formula:A--X--B (I)(wherein 100 to 50 mol % of A stands for defined mesogenic group, 0 to 50 mole % of A is p-phenylene, m-phenylene or trans-1,4-cyclohexylene, B is a defined spacer group, and X is ester bond, carbonate bond, amide bond, urethane bond or urea bond, and a repeating unit of the formula:R (II)in which R stands for bivalent to hexavalent hydrocarbon residue, are connected, in any successive orders and in a weight ratio of (I)/(II)=99.9/0.1 to 60/40, with each other through ester bond, carbonate bond, amide bond, urethane bond or urea bond, and end portions are occupied by a functional group as hydroxyl, carboxyl and the like. A resinous composition for coating use which is excellent in weather resistance and in low temperature curing properties, comprising a resin having resinous acid value based on carboxyl groups derived from its constituting tetrachlorophthalic acid of 2 to 8, a resinous acid value based on sulfonic acid groups derived from its constituting sulfophthalic acid of 0.5 to 5, and a functional group capable of reacting with a crosslinking agent to be compounded with the resin. The present resin is useful, in the combination form with a crosslinking agent, as a resinous vehicle of a coating composition which is excellent in curing properties, weather resistance, pigment dispersibility and storage stability and is specifically useful as an intermediate or top coat paint for automobile bodies or the like.

This invention discloses a curing resin composition comprising (a) an organic resin containing no less than 2 alkenyl groups per molecule, and having a number average molecular weight of 500-100,000. (b) an organohydrogen-polysiloxane containing no less than 2 Si--H bonds per molecule, and (c) a platinum catalyst. It is desired that the organic resin of component (a) is at least one type chosen from acrylic, polyester and epoxy. The preferable amount of component (b) is such that there are 0.8-4 hydrogen atoms bonded to silicon atoms per alkenyl group of component (a).

A modified polyester resin composition for coating use comprising a polyester resin modified with 5 to 30% by weight of the total solid of a branched fatty acid having 8 and more carbon atoms and with 5 to 30% by weight of the total solid of a cyclic ester represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein R represents an alkylene group having 4 to 10 carbon atoms, the resin having a hydroxyl value of 70 to 300. The present resin composition is specifically useful as resinous vehicle in a top coat composition for plastic and other substrates.
