Abstract:
There are provided measures for mobility management for device-to-device communications. Such measures exemplarily include receiving a radio handover request message indicating that a radio handover of at least one communication endpoint utilizing device-to-device communication is to be hidden from core network, and determining, based on device-to-device context information, which is information on said device-to-device communication, and/or on information on said at least one communication endpoint, whether a notification of said radio handover is to be transmitted.
Abstract:
An apparatus, method and computer program is described comprising: determining that a first mobile object requires positioning assistance based on one or more predetermined criteria, wherein the predetermined criteria includes whether one or more properties of a planned or predicted future position of the first mobile object have been identified as insufficient, or are predicted as being insufficient, for determining the position of the first mobile object with a required level of accuracy; and responsive to said determination, causing deployment of one or more movable devices (e.g. UAVs) to a target position for providing the required positioning assistance to said first mobile object.
Abstract:
A method includes coordinating one or more pools of resources for discovery signal transmission between a plurality of devices, at least one of said pools of resources being shared by at least one larger cell and at least one smaller cell at least partially in a coverage area of the said larger cell.
Abstract:
Measures are provided for management of RRC for D2D communication. Such measures include setting a connected state of RRC for device(s) of a pair of devices. For the devices(s), both a D2D communication service between the pair of devices and a core network communication service between the device(s) and a core network entity are active. The setting enables radio resource management for the device(s) for the D2D communication service and the core network communication service. Termination of the core network communication service is detected for the device(s). A connection towards the core network entity is reconfigured for disabling the core network communication service of the device(s). The connected state of RRC is maintained for the devices(s) of the pair of devices, for which the device(s) only the device-to-device communication service is active. The maintaining enables radio resource management for the device(s) for the D2D communication service.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus may include determining that a triggering has occurred. The triggering corresponds to a triggering of a formation of a multiple-input and multiple-output arrangement. The multiple-input and multiple-output arrangement comprises a grouping of user antennas and an antenna of the apparatus, and the apparatus is located at an existing infrastructure. The method may also include receiving data traffic information. The data traffic information comprises information that indicates an amount of data traffic that is requested by users of the user antennas. The method may also include forming the multiple-input and multiple-output arrangement based on the received data traffic information.
Abstract:
Some embodiments of the present invention relate to an apparatus, a method, and a computer program product related to coexistence of two network operators, for example a local operator and an incumbent operator. In certain embodiments, a method may include monitoring if network information from a server part of an application is received by a client part of the application. The client part is connected to the server part via a first network that uses a radio access technology. The network information is related to a second network that uses the radio access technology, the second network being different from the first network. The method also includes controlling a cellular radio layer such that it interworks with the second network based on the received network and authentication information.
Abstract:
The present subject matter relates to an apparatus for time synchronization in a wireless communication system using resources which are allocated in time domain for a set of user apparatuses of the wireless communication system. The apparatus comprises means being configured for: selecting a user apparatus of the set of user apparatuses; using the allocated resources for selecting a scheduled transmission time for the selected user apparatus; estimating a propagation time of a message from the apparatus to the selected user apparatus; estimating an arrival time of the message at the selected user apparatus using the scheduled transmission time and the propagation time; providing according to the scheduled transmission time a message including the estimated arrival time.
Abstract:
It is provided a method, comprising monitoring if a network information from a server part of an application is received by a client part of the application, wherein the client part is connected to the server part via a first network, the first network is of a radio access technology, the network parameter is related to a second network, and the second network is of the radio access technology, and the second network is different from the first network; and controlling a cellular radio layer such that it interworks with the second network based on the network information if the network information is received.
Abstract:
An example method includes generating, by a first user device, a first number representing a contention resolution priority for the first user device contending for at least one first resource over a first data period for transmitting a packet of data in a device-to-device (D2D) wireless network, determining if a second device, in the D2D wireless network, is contending for resources overlapping with the at least one first resource of the first data period, if the second device is contending for resources overlapping with the at least one first resource of the first data period, determining if a second number representing a contention resolution priority for the second user device is greater than the first number, and if the second number is greater than the first number, inhibiting the first user device from communicating using the at least one first resource of the first data period.
Abstract:
A method, including receiving at a first communication device from a first network information for assisting device-to-device transmissions between a group of communication devices including said first communication device; thereafter detecting at said first communication device loss of possibility to continue receiving assistance for said device-to-device transmissions from said first network; and deciding at said first communication device whether to continue with said device-to-device transmissions with assistance from a second network or without assistance from a second network.
