摘要: An encapsulation method applicable to pharmaceutical preparations, cosmetics, pigment imparting materials such as inks, paints, dyes, electrostatic toner, and others is disclosed, as are methods of use thereof. According to the disclosed method, the use of auxiliary materials such as emulsifiers or surfactants can be dispensed with, and ultramicrocapsules having a readily controllable diameter of 1 .mu.m and less can be produced. The disclosed method includes the steps of preparing an organic phase consisting of a mixture of one or more hydrophobic liquid and/or solid materials and self dispersible resin which through the action of an aqueous phase, self disperses into particles with a diameter of 0.1 .mu.m and less; combining an aqueous phase with the organic phase, whereby self emulsification takes place, thereby encapsulating the one or more hydrophobic liquid and/or solid materials.

摘要: There is provided a laser machining apparatus, and a laser machining method using the same. The laser machining apparatus has a body portion having a plurality of laser irradiating sections and work mounting sections, a supplying stocker for supplying workpieces, and a discharging stocker for discharging the workpieces. The apparatus further comprises a supply-side transfer unit having work retaining tables capable of attracting/releasing the workpieces and being of the same number as the laser irradiating sections, and moving in vertical and horizontal directions, and a discharge-side transfer unit having work retaining tables capable of attracting/releasing the workpieces and being of the same number as the laser irradiating sections, and moving in vertical and horizontal directions. The supply-side transfer unit causes the supply-side work retaining tables to attract the workpieces from the supplying stocker one after another and moves these supply-side work retaining tables to the work mounting sections to place the workpieces thereon. The discharge-side transfer unit causes the discharge-side work retaining tables to attract the work pieces which have been machined at work mounting sections, and to move and discharge these workpieces to the discharging stocker.

摘要: A waveguide laser medium having an optical waveguide, which is used for effecting light amplification or laser oscillation and is formed by performing the ion exchange of alkaline ions contained in a predetermined portion of a laser glass substrate, which includes the alkaline ions and laser active ions, for another kind of ions, which operate to increase the refractive index of the laser glass, thereby making the refractive index of the predetermined portion become higher than that of the other portions of the laser glass substrate. Further, the laser glass substrate is made of, for example, phosphate glass containing neodymium ions as the laser active ions and further containing 0.01.about.8.0 mol % of Na.sub.2 O, from which Na.sup.+ ions are obtained as the alkaline ions, and the ion operating to increase the refractive index of the predetermined portion is Ag.sup.+ ions. Such a waveguide laser medium is employed in a waveguide laser. Thereby, the ion exchange can be efficiently performed without the occurrence of a crack in the laser glass substrate and so on. Furthermore, light amplification, as well as laser oscillation, can be efficiently performed.

摘要: There is provided a laser machining apparatus, and a laser machining method using the same, which allows an installation area thereof to be reduced while improving working efficiency. The laser machining apparatus has a body portion having a plurality of laser irradiating sections and work mounting sections, a supplying stocker for supplying workpieces, and a discharging stocker for discharging the workpieces. The apparatus further comprises a supply-side transfer unit having work retaining tables capable of attaching/detaching the workpieces and of the same number with the laser irradiating sections, and moving the work retaining tables in the vertical and horizontal directions, and a discharge-side transfer unit having work retaining tables capable attaching/detaching the workpieces and of the same number with the laser irradiating sections, and moving the work retaining tables in the vertical and horizontal directions. The supply-side unit causes the plurality of supply-side work retaining tables to adsorb the workpieces from the supplying stocker one after another and moves these supply-side work retaining tables to the work mounting sections to place the workpieces thereon. The discharge-side unit causes the discharge-side work retaining tables to adsorb the workpieces which have been machined at the work mounting sections to move and discharge those workpieces to the discharging stocker.
