The objective to be solved by the present invention is to provide an ice-crystallization inhibitor which has a practicable and excellent ice-crystallization inhibiting property and which can be efficiently and stably produced in a safe process suitable for food production. Also, the objective of the present invention is to provide an antibody which specifically reacts with the ice-crystallization inhibitor, and a composition, a food, a biological sample protectant and a cosmetic which contain the ice-crystallization inhibitor. Furthermore, the objective of the present invention is to provide a polysaccharide which is derived from a basidiomycete and which is used for inhibiting ice-crystallization of a liquid containing water, and a method for inhibiting ice-crystallization of a liquid containing water. The ice-crystallization inhibitor according to the present invention is characterized in being a polysaccharide derived from a basidiomycete.

The silver halide photographic material for a medical care comprises (A) a transparent support having the thickness of 150 .mu.m or more, and (B) a silver halide emulsion layer provided on the trasparent support, wherein silver halide grains in the silver halide emulsion layer, which contain those having a (100) face/(111) face ratio of 5 or more and those having a silver bromide-localized phase on the surface thereof, have an average grain size of not larger than 0.4 .mu.m in terms of a projected area circle-corresponding diameter, a silver chloride content of at least 90 mole %, and an iron compound of 10.sup.-5 mole or more per mole of silver halide.

For formation of a photographic image by development of a silver halide photographic material with an automatic developing machine, a certain period of time or not longer than 15 seconds is set as the time of the development step and a silver halide photographic material is used which, when developed for a period of one-half of said certain period of time after such an exposure that the exposed silver halide photographic material, when developed for said certain period of time, would give a value of (Dmax-fog).times.1/2, gives a value of (D-fog) having 70% or more of the value of (Dmax-fog).times.1/2. The silver halide photographic material comprises at least one of a combination of (1), (2) and (3) or (2) and (4): where: (1) represents a silver halide emulsion containing a water-soluble iridium salt; (2) represents a silver halide emulsion layer with a silver amount from 1 to 3.5 grams/m.sup.2 coated on one surface of said emulsion layer; (3) represents silver halide grains wherein the mean grain size is 1.0 .mu. or less; and (4) represents tabular silver halide grains having an aspect ratio of 4 or more. By the rapid development procedure, a sharp image with no development unevenness (drag streaks) can be obtained and the automatic developing machine to be used may be made small-sized and compact.
