摘要: A plant cultivation method of the present invention includes the steps of: placing a plant under a condition at a pressure of not less than 1.5 atmospheres and not more than 10 atmospheres; and cultivating the plant. A plant cultivation device (1) includes: a cultivation chamber (10); and a compressor (20) which supplies compressed air into the cultivation chamber. A carry-in opening (30), which is provided on a side wall (16) of the cultivation chamber (10) so that a material is carried in/out to/from the cultivation chamber (10) via the carry-in opening (30), is provided with a cover (31) which has a shape that is hemispherical and protrudes toward an inside of the cultivation chamber (10). The cover (31) closes the carry-in opening (30) by being in contact, via a packing (32), with an inner surface of the side wall (16) surrounding the carry-in opening (30). The cultivation chamber (10) has an internal pressure higher than an atmospheric pressure by causing the compressor (20) to supply compressed air into the cultivation chamber (10) in a state in which the carry-in opening (30) is closed. A plant growth rate is improved by cultivating a plant in a high pressure environment which is different from a natural environment. A plant cultivation device is provided for achieving plant cultivation in a high pressure environment.

摘要: The invention provides methods and kits suitable for large-scale in vivo screening of polypeptides for specific binding affinity to a selected RNA recognition sequence. Polypeptide(s) are screened as fusion proteins with a polypeptide having antitermination activity. Polypeptides having binding activity are identified by their capacity to activate transcription of a reporter gene via binding of the polypeptide being screened to the selected RNA recognition sequence. The invention also provides methods of screening RNA molecules for binding to a selected polypeptide.

摘要: A branch trimmer comprises a momentum converter for converting rotary motion of the output of a power source into linear reciprocation; a saw blade being slidably reciprocated in a longitudinal direction thereof under the application of power transmitted from the momentum converter; a gear case body for accommodating a base portion of the saw blade and the momentum converter; and a gear case cover for covering a bottom portion of the gear case body. The gear case cover is divided into plural parts, a first divided gear case cover part is formed such that the outline thereof is a slightly larger than the outline of the base portion of the saw blade disposed in the gear case body when the saw blade is maximally extended to its top dead center position thereof.

摘要: There is provided a traffic sign apparatus that can improve the luminance of a sign surface which emits light by ultraviolet irradiation, and the uniformity ratio of illuminance, so as to enhance the visibility thereof in the nighttime. The traffic sign apparatus 10 includes a sign body 11 having the sign surface 14 which emits light by ultraviolet irradiation, and an irradiation device 12 for irradiating ultraviolet rays onto the sign surface 14. Assuming that the maximum incident angle of the ultraviolet rays be θ1, the ultraviolet rays being irradiated from the ultraviolet emission lamps 26 of the irradiation unit 12 onto the objective sign surfaces W1 and W2 on the sign surface 14 which is the irradiation object of the ultraviolet emission lamps 26; and that the minimum incident angle be θ2, the angle θ1 is set to more than 30° and less than 70°; and the angle θ 2 is set to more than 5° and less than 30°.

摘要: Disclosed is a torsion beam type rear suspension which comprises a pair of right and left trailing arms (2), a torsion beam (3), and a spring seat (6) disposed in a corner region defined at a junction between each of the lateral ends of the torsion beam and a rear portion (2c) of a corresponding one of the trailing arms to form a mounting seat for a coil spring (8). A vertical flange (13) is formed along a laterally inner edge (12) of the spring seat to have a longitudinally front edge extending vertically along a rear side surface of the torsion beam. The spring seat has a first region (7b) of disposed opposed to the corresponding trailing arm and fixed thereto approximately in its entirety, and a second region (16) disposed opposed to the torsion beam and fixed thereto only through the vertical flange. The torsion beam type rear suspension of the present invention can improve the supporting rigidity of the spring seat relative to a coil spring without increasing the rigidities of the spring seat and trailing arm themselves, while allowing the risk of stress concentration occurring at an end of the torsion beam to be reduced, so as to achieve increased chassis rigidity and adequately maintain suspension functions.
