Abstract: An aerosol measurement apparatus for measuring an aerosol contained in a scatterer present in an atmosphere includes a light source, an optical element (i) that irradiates the scatterer with interfering light produced by causing emitted light emitted from the light source to interfere in an interior of the optical element, the interfering light having a plurality of peaks spaced at frequency intervals equal to one another, and (ii) that emits Mie scattered light by causing scattered light generated in the scatterer to interfere in the interior, and a photodetector that receives the Mie scattered light and outputs a signal corresponding to an intensity of light received.

Abstract: A measurement apparatus includes a light source, an interferometer, a light receiver, and a signal processor. The light source emits laser light to a scatterer in the atmosphere. The laser light has multiple oscillation frequencies separated from each other at equal frequency intervals. The interferometer produces interference in scattered light generated as a result of the laser light being scattered by the scatterer. The light receiver receives Mie scattered light included in the scattered light subjected to the interference produced by the interferometer and generates a signal. The signal processor detects the quantity of the Mie scattered light based on the signal. Each of the equal frequency intervals is smaller than the full width at half maximum of the peak of a frequency spectrum of Rayleigh scattered light. The Rayleigh scattered light is generated as a result of the laser light being scattered by molecules forming the atmosphere.

Abstract: A light observation apparatus includes: a first photodetector that, upon irradiation of at least part of a physical object with irradiation light, receives first light containing ambient light and at least one selected from the group consisting of reflected light returning from the at least part and fluorescence produced from the at least part, and that outputs a first output signal representing a reception intensity of the first light; a second photodetector that receives second light containing the ambient light and outputs a second output signal representing a reception intensity of the second light; and a signal processing circuit. The signal processing circuit attenuates a first signal component corresponding to the ambient light from the first output signal based on the first output signal and the second output signal.

Abstract: A liquid treatment apparatus includes a flow channel, first and second electrodes at least part of each of which is disposed within the flow channel, an insulator, a gas supply device, and a power supply source that applies a voltage between the first and second electrodes and generates plasma. The insulator has a tubular shape and an opening on an end surface of the insulator, and surrounds a lateral surface of the first electrode with a space interposed between the insulator and the first electrode. The gas supply device supplies and ejects a gas into the liquid via the opening. At least part of the flow channel extends in a first direction which is inclined with respect to a horizontal direction so that the liquid flows obliquely upward with respect to the horizontal direction. The opening is positioned within the at least part of the flow channel.
