Abstract: A reflectarray for shaping electromagnetic radiation having a characteristic wavelength in an operating band of wavelengths, the reflectarray comprising: a planar backplane that reflects the electromagnetic radiation; a dielectric layer located on the backplane; a plurality of cells, each cell characterized by a maximum dimension less than the characteristic wavelength of the radiation and comprising an array of at least two antennas having different shapes that reflect the electromagnetic radiation; wherein the antennas in the plurality of cells are coplanar.

Abstract: A system for determining muscle activation comprises a set of electrode adherable to a skin of a subject, and a processor in communication with the electrodes. The processor has a circuit configured for receiving locations of the electrodes and electrical signals detected by the electrodes, analyzing the signals to identify a section of an active muscle, identifying locations of at least a segment of active muscles and activation patterns of the active muscles based on the identified section, and constructing a displayable map of the locations and the activation patterns, wherein patterns corresponding to different active muscles are distinguishable on the map.

Abstract: An efficient nanoscale semiconducting optoelectronic system, containing a P/N acceptor donor organic hetrojunction which is optimized for neuronal stimulation—an organic electrolytic photocapacitor. The devices comprise a thin (80 nm) trilayer of metal and p-n semiconducting organic nanocrystals. When illuminated in physiological solution, these metal-semiconductor devices charge up, transducing light pulses into localized displacement currents that are strong enough to electrically stimulate neurons with safe light intensities.
