A method with which a textile sheet having good mechanical properties in respect to relatively high values regarding tear propagation resistance can be produced. The textile sheets are used in areas that require relatively high tear propagation resistance. The textile sheets also have relatively high peak tensile values and/or elongation at break values. The method for the production of a tear propagation-resistant textile sheet comprises providing a starting textile sheet made of yarns, fibers or filaments formed of at least two elementary filaments and having an arrangement in cross-section like orange segments or pie slices with the segments or slices made of different polymers, and exposing the starting textile sheet to a compressing heat treatment, wherein the polymer segments are permeated and a substantially non-adhesive bond is achieved between the polymer segments. The textile sheet may comprise nonwoven materials having a specific tear propagation resistance of equal to or greater than 0.4 N per g/m2 (according to Zungen method, ASTM D 2261).

A method for manufacturing a synthethic leather includes the steps of obtaining a polyurethane prepolymer from isocyantates and linear hydroxyl-terminated polyols having molecular weights of 500 to 5,000 g/mol, wherien the isocyanates include at least one of aliphatic, cyclophatic, and non-aromatic heterocyclic di- and or tri-isocyanates. A first aqueaous dispersion of the polyurethane prepolymer is provided and mixed with a second aqueous dispersion or solution of a catalyst and at least one cross-linking constituent so as to create a mixture. The method further includes impregnating a textile fabric with the mixture and drying and reacting the prepolymers to completion at a temperature from 80 to 180° C. In addition, a synthetic letter manufactured according to the method.

A process for the production of a two-layer textile reinforcement for the production of bituminous sealing sheets for roofing consists first, from a first layer based on nonwoven cloth, in consolidating this nonwoven cloth by mechanical or hydraulic bonding and in thermostabilizing it. This first consolidated and thermostabilized layer is then assembled with a second mineral fiber layer, either by counter-gluing, or by needling, or by seam knitting. These two latter assembly methods are used only when the second mineral fiber layer is in the form of a grid or cloth of continuous or discontinuous mineral filaments. The first assembly method by counter-gluing is itself used no matter what the structure of the second mineral filament layer, whether it be in the form of a grid or a cloth of continuous or discontinuous mineral fibers or in the form of a scrim of mineral fibers.

Novel compounds of the formula (1) ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are different lower alkyls and R.sup.3 is a lower alkyl or a methyl pyridine group, and the acid addition salts of formula (1) compounds when R.sup.3 is methyl pyridine. The novel compounds have an asymmetric C-atom and may be in the form of the D,L racemates or the D or L stereoisomers.These compounds are useful in the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and hyperlipidemia because of their high effectiveness in reducing the level of cholesterol and lipids in the blood combined with very low general toxicities and substantially reduced hepatomegalitic effects.
