摘要: An electronic device for detecting estrus that may be affixed to the tail-head area of a cow is described. This device permits the accurate determination of optimal breeding time, natural or artificial, based on mounting activity. The device includes a water resistant housing, within which is contained the electronic portion of the device consisting of a controller means, a power means, an activation means, a read data means, and at least one display means; said device determining and subsequently indicating suspected and confirmed estrus based on an algorithm. The invention may be used, for example, with any non-human animal exhibiting standing heats and/or mounting behavior indicative of an estrus cycle for making mounting data determinations related to the estrus cycle and analyzing such data to determine optimal time to breed.

摘要: There is provided a device for partitioning a liquefied sample into discrete volumes. The device includes a bottom member; a top member disposed adjacent the bottom member; and at least one channel member disposed between the top and bottom members. The at least one channel member is at least partially defined by the top and bottom members and has first and second end portions. The first end portion of the at least one channel has an opening to receive liquid and the second end portion of the at least one channel has a reaction compartment and a vent opening. Accordingly, when the liquefied sample is introduced to the first end portion, capillary action assists in causing the liquefied sample to travel from the first end portion to the second end portion and at least a portion of the liquefied sample is caused to remain in the reaction compartment.

摘要: A system and method of enhancing shopping search engines and games of chance by permitting the user to search for and locate the prize the user seeks to win or buy, and then playing a game of chance to win the specified item, or going to the web site to buy. The system calculates a dynamic probability of winning the item based on several factors. The system randomly generates a trial outcome of an event trial and an outcome indicator, with the probability of the event trial generating a winning trial outcome corresponding to the calculated probability of winning. The outcome indicator represents either a winning trial outcome or a losing trial outcome. In response to a winning trial outcome, the system purchases the item for the user from the independent third-party retail vendor at no cost to the user.

摘要: A system and method are described for designing animated visualization interfaces depicting, at a supervisory level, manufacturing and process control information wherein graphical symbols in the visualization interfaces are associated with components of a process control/manufacturing information application. The system includes a graphical symbol library for maintaining a set of graphical symbol templates wherein the graphical symbol templates including a graphics definition including graphics and a reference to an application component type. The reference facilitates identifying candidate application components for creating an association between a graphical symbol instance created from a graphical symbol template and one of the candidate application components. The system also includes a graphical symbol design environment for selecting the graphical symbol template, specifying an application component corresponding to the component type, and creating an association between the graphical symbol instance and the specified application component.

摘要: The present application is directed to methods and systems for providing social interaction within a customized media streaming service. In one aspect, the present application is directed to methods and systems for automated playlist generation based on social metadata. These systems allow for an internet media delivery service to learn about a listener's preferences, and changes in those preferences over time, without the listener being required to tell the service directly, but rather through social networking profiles and relationships to one or more similar or related users. This allows the service to immediately, without any input from the listener, play programming that is likely to be enjoyed by the listener. It also allows the service to learn about changes in a listener's preferences over time without requiring the user to actively express the preferences.

摘要: A system and method for flexible multiple protocols are presented. A device's logical layer may be dynamically configured on a per interface basis to communicate with external devices in a coherent or a non-coherent mode. In coherent mode, commands such as coherency protocol, system commands, and snoop response pass from the device's internal system bus to an external device, thereby creating a logical extension of the devices internal system bus. In non-coherent mode, the input-output bus unit receives commands from the internal system bus and generates non-coherent input-output commands, which are eventually received by an external device.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention provide methods and systems for reducing the consumption of inter-node bandwidth by communications maintaining coherence between accelerators and CPUs. The CPUs and the accelerators may be clustered on separate nodes in a multiprocessing environment. Each node that contains a shared memory device may maintain a directory to track blocks of shared memory that may have been cached at other nodes. Therefore, commands and addresses may be transmitted to processors and accelerators at other nodes only if a memory location has been cached outside of a node. Additionally, because accelerators generally do not access the same data as CPUs, only initial read, write, and synchronization operations may be transmitted to other nodes. Intermediate accesses to data may be performed non-coherently. As a result, the inter-chip bandwidth consumed for maintaining coherence may be reduced.
