摘要: Disclosed herein is a method which allows the cell phone operator to download traffic information on the operators cell phone display with a minimum of keystrokes. The cell phone can have a option mode, voice activation or a sequence of keystrokes programmed within the cell or mobile phone to facilitate access of the cell or mobile phone to regional traffic information. This is accomplished by the cell or mobile phone service provider procuring traffic information and data from traffic information provided by an entity such as Traffic Pulse. Alternately the cell phone service provider can make internet access to a traffic information provider directly to the operator of the cell phone. Besides having to first access the internet from a cell phone, and then second navigate to a traffic information website, an operator must provide location information, such as current position through zip code, address, or longitudinal and latitudinal coordination. Cell and mobile phone technology already has the function to monitor the locations of a cell or mobile phone to access various cell phone transmitting and receiving towers in close proximity to the cell or mobile phone. This is accomplished by one example known as triangulation measurement or hyperbolic multi-lateration positioning of cell signals between cell towers or through GPS technology incorporated in the cell or mobile phone. Therefore, the use of current location information of a cell phone acquiring regional traffic data does not need to this information be input, using keystrokes on the cell phone keyboard, or by voice annunciations by the cell phone operator.

摘要: Disclosed herein is an alerting/warning apparatus and method associated with a particular cell telephone alerts an individual when said owner of the cell phone is separated by a defined distance from their cell phone. Cell phones are becoming smaller and hence, are being lost more often. The solution to this problem which is a portion of the present invention is to make a pendant or other device that the user carries that triggers an alarm if the distance between the pendant and a cell phone becomes too great. The alerting/warning apparatus consists of a visual and/or auditory means located within the alert device that communicates wirelessly with the particular individual's cell phone, including a transmitting and receiving means to communicate with the particular cell phone. Typical devices, such as key chains, necklaces, or other forms of jewelry or wallet inserts will be employed to incorporate the alert apparatus for the cell phone owner's convenience. The alerting/warning apparatus also contains a power source that consisting generally as a battery or other (e.g. solar) energy source. The alerting/warning apparatus will have the capability to set the given distance between the individual and the particular cell phone to adapt to the cell phone owner's individual needs. Also the alerting/warning apparatus can be turned off when it is desired that the present invention not be in use. The alerting/warning apparatus is designed to prevent the loss or minimize the theft of cell phones that are temporarily left behind in unprotected public and private or other places. The method comprises first setting the desired distance that the individual wants to be alerted when the individual and the cell phone or laptop computer are separated by that distance. After making the decision and setting the alerting/warning apparatus for that distance, the individual carries the alerting/warning device (which could be represented as a key chain or other convenient device). Now, when, or if, the cell phone is left on a table, counter, car, boat, ground or any other location and the individual having the alerting/warning apparatus moves to a position that is greater than the distance set on the alerting/warning apparatus, a light and/or auditory alarm, depending on the particular embodiment, is turned on to alarm the individual that their cell phone has been left behind.

摘要: Apparatus, systems, and methods are provided for repairing heart valves through percutaneous transcatheter delivery and fixation of annuloplasty rings to heart valves. An annuloplasty ring includes an outer hollow member including a plurality of segments. Adjacent segments cooperate with one another to change the outer hollow member from an elongate insertion geometry to an annular operable geometry. The annuloplasty ring also includes an internal anchor member located at least partially within the outer hollow member. The internal anchor member includes a plurality of anchors configured to attach the annuloplasty ring to tissue of a heart valve annulus. The internal anchor member is configured to move the plurality of anchors with respect to a plurality of windows in the outer hollow member to selectively deploy the plurality of anchors through the respective windows.

摘要: The present invention pertains to a means of combining and configuring specific hydrophilic and dielectric materials in such a way as to allow an antimony/reference electrode pH sensor to be packaged and stored dry yet become fully hydrated to an activated state after exposure to aqueous liquids. The sensor is packaged and stored dry to maintain component stability and minimize component degradation. When the user removes the sensor from the package and the sensor tip is submerged in a hydration (ion conduction) media or solution, the hydrophilic coating along with the impregnated reference wick, absorb the fluid to create an electrolytic gel inside the reference wick, which activates the pH sensor.

摘要: The present invention pertains to an apparatus for evaluating the signal strength from the pH sensor to determine whether the sensor is hydrated sufficiently to accurately measure pH. This is accomplished by utilizing circuitry that periodically sends a low voltage signal to a suitable pH sensor and then receiving the resulting waveforms which are analyzed by a processing receiver. The electrical connection between a suitable pH sensor and hydration monitoring circuitry is generally hard wired. In one embodiment, a processing receiver is coupled with the hydration monitoring circuitry as a single apparatus. In a second embodiment, the processing receiver can be independent and located remote from the hydration monitoring circuitry. In this embodiment, the hydration monitoring circuitry and the processing receiver are electrically connected using either hard wired techniques or wireless technology. In addition, the processing receiver can include data recording capability.
