摘要: A confocal microscope is adapted to prevent a shading phenomenon of an observation image due to axial chromatic aberration and chromatic aberration of magnification of an objective optical system. A backward light from a specimen illuminated by an excitation light through the objective optical system is condensed through the objective optical system and a deflecting optical system at a position conjugate to the condensing point on the specimen. Formed in a light shielding member aligned with the condensing point position of the backward light is a pinhole having an opening which substantially covers a range of movements of the condensing point of the backward light caused as a result of the movement of the optical path by the deflecting optical system. Alternatively, in order to reduce the amount of movement of the condensing point corresponding to the wavelength of the backward light to zero, a light deflecting element is arranged at a position displaced by a predetermined distance from a deflecting optical system-side focal position of the objective optical system or a position conjugate to the focal position.

摘要: The difficulty of miniaturization of large-scale integrated circuits in electric devices based on the conventional techniques involving three-dimensional device structures or the introduction of novel materials is solved. Wires 2 and 3 are disposed to intersect one another in midair in a matrix. The ends of the wires 2 and 3 in midair are designed to be in direct contact with the insides of a package which contains a semiconductor device so that electrical connection and/or physical support can be acquired. Cross point 1 where wires 2 and 3 are in contact with each other is a region which has current switching function similar to the function of a channel of a common MOSFET. Cross point 1 is a region where base wire 2 functioning as a substrate and gate electrode wire 3 functioning as a control electrode (gate electrode) intersect in contact with one another, or a region where base wire 2 and a lead wire 4 overlap. The diameter and length of the wires as well as the distance therebetween can be designed as desired based on desired device specifications. The semiconductor device is insulated by gas (which is sealed with resin e.g. as the case may be) or vacuum except for an isolation region formed in base wire 2.

摘要: An optical recording medium includes a substrate, first information for modulating a phase of read light radiated on the substrate, and second information for modulating an amplitude of the read light radiated on the substrate. The first information and the second information are arranged in parallel to each other on the substrate in a predetermined arrangement direction. A method and apparatus for performing reproduction using this medium are also disclosed. The method includes the step of radiating read light on the optical recording medium in which the first information for modulating the phase of the read light and the second information for modulating the amplitude of the read light are recorded, the step of receiving light through the optical recording medium, the detection step of independently detecting phase modulation information and amplitude modulation information of the optical recording medium using the received light, and the step of reproducing the first information and the second information from the information in the detection step.

摘要: A waveguide type wavelength measuring apparatus is provided with a single mode channel type optical waveguide formed on a waveguide substrate, in which the light to be measured is inputted, a double mode waveguide connected to the single mode channel type optical waveguide, waveguide branches for branching the light output from the double mode waveguide, and photodetectors for detecting independently the light branched by the waveguide branches. The wavelength of the inputted light is measured on the basis of the output signals from the photodetectors. Hence it is possible to perform precise real-time measurement of the wavelength of the incident light with a compact and extremely miniaturized structure.

摘要: A sheath flow type flow-cell device for photo-particle-analyzer comprises a substantially flat top surface, at least one first inlet for sheath fluid, at least one first flow passage communicated with the at least one first inlet and contracted toward downstream to be a straight capillary flow passage, a discharge port provided at a terminal end of the straight capillary flow passage, a second inlet for sample fluid, a second flow passage for sample fluid communicated with the second inlet and contracted toward downstream, and coupling portions for sealingly coupling with the particle photo-analyzer. The second flow passage is opened within the at least one first flow passage so as to keep a part of the at least one first flow passage above and below an opening of the second flow passage. The opening is faced in the same direction as the straight capillary flow passage. A wall portion on which the opening locates is rounded. The wall portion is further chamfered and a pair of projections are extended from the wall portion.

摘要: A canned motor pump is adapted for use at high temperatures and enables generated heat from the motor to be absorbed in a treating fluid or liquid upon circulation through the motor thereby conserving heat values in the treating fluid or liquid. The canned motor pump can circulate high temperature treating fluids, or liquids through the canned motor portion without damaging the coils of the motor because of a ceramic-like high temperature insulation used for the electrical field windings, which insulation is provided by mixing a silicone resin, synthetic fluoro-mica and a devitrified mica glass and impregnating the electrical winding coils with such material, whereafter the material is cured and then subjected to an elevated temperature above 300.degree. C. to form the ceramic-like insulation.
