    摘要: In a starter for starting an internal combustion engine with a first output shaft to which a ring gear is coupled, a motor has a second output shaft to which a movable pinion member is coupled and is operative to, when energized, rotate the second output shaft. A solenoid device includes a solenoid actuator linked to the movable pinion member. The solenoid actuator is configured to, when activated, shift the movable pinion member toward the ring gear to be engaged with the ring gear. The solenoid device includes a solenoid switch configure to, when activated, energize the motor. The solenoid actuator and the solenoid switch are integrated with each other to provide the solenoid device. A controller module is configured to individually control an activation of the solenoid actuator and an activation of the solenoid switch. The controller module is mounted on the solenoid device.

    摘要: A starter to start an engine mounted on a vehicle provides an electromagnetic solenoid to push a pinion gear towards a ring gear side, an electromagnetic switch to open and close a motor contact point. The electromagnetic solenoid and the electromagnetic switch are individually controlled by an Electronic Control Unit i.e., ECU. When an idle-stop is triggered, the ECU controls a starter relay to be closed during the ring gear is rotating whereby the pinion gear together with a clutch are pushed out to counter-motor direction by the electromagnetic solenoid. As a result, the pinion gear meshes with the ring gear that is rotating at lower rotational speed. Therefore, the inertial mass of the starter is added to the ring gear so that swinging of the engine can be suppressed.

    摘要: A starter includes an electromagnetic solenoid that generates force for pushing a pinion gear 6 to a ring gear side, and an electromagnetic switch that opens and closes a motor contact point. When idle-stop is performed, an ECU energizes a solenoid coil of the electromagnetic solenoid during inertial rotation until the ring gear stops rotating. After rotation of an engine is stopped, the ECU stops energizing the solenoid coil. As a result, in the starter, the pinion gear can mesh with the ring gear that is rotating by inertia without use of the rotational force of a motor. The meshed state can be maintained even after energization of the solenoid coil is stopped.

A plurality of concavo-convex parts is provided on a surface of the fixed contact that faces the movable contact. A plurality of concavo-convex portions is provided on another surface of the fixed contact that faces an anti movable-contact side. The concavo-convex portions are arranged so that positions of concave parts of the concavo-convex portions match positions of convex parts of the concavo-convex portions provided in the opposite surface of the fixed contact. The concavo-convex parts are at least partly curved, and have the same height and project in a height direction from the fixed contact.

    摘要: An armature composed of a shaft and an armature core is rotatably supported in a housing of a rotary electric machine. The shaft is forcibly inserted into a center hole of the armature core formed by laminating core sheets. Each core sheet has a center hole and outer holes connected to the center hole. A contour of the center hole is not continuous because the outer holes are connected thereto. The shaft can be firmly connected to the laminated core sheets with a relatively low inserting force. The shaft has a smooth outer surface having no knurls or the like. In addition, the outer holes of the laminated core sheets form cooling air passages in the armature core in its axial direction.

    摘要: A front end of a starter motor housing is sealed by a resilient seal member disposed between a bearing and a front end wall of the housing. A shaft carrying a pinion at its front end is rotatably and slidably supported by the bearing in an over hang fashion. The seal member is a cup-shaped ring having a circular outer wall, a bottom wall and a center hole. A sealing lip slidably contacting the rotating shaft is formed around the center hole. The circular outer wall of the seal member is tightly and hermetically held between an outer ring of the bearing and front end wall of the housing, so that the seal member is not displaced in the axial direction. The bottom wall is S-shaped forming a depressed portion facing the bearing to provide more space for retaining lubricant therein.

The fulcrum supporter, which is integrally formed with the supporting frame, works to support the fulcrum portion of the lever to achieve pivotal movement of the second end to bring the pinion gear into mesh with the ring gear of the engine.
