Abstract: A control apparatus for a vehicle allows execution of an idle-stop control for temporarily stopping an engine, in a case in which a plurality of conditions are satisfied. The plurality of conditions include (i) a first condition is that it is determined upon power ON of the vehicle that the execution of the idle-stop control is allowed in a result of a determination stored upon power OFF of the vehicle last time and (ii) a second condition that it is determined that a smoothed value of an output voltage of a power storage device is at least a predetermined voltage value that guarantees the start of the engine. The smoothed value is obtained by a smoothing processing for smoothing the output voltage during a preparation period from the power ON until elapse of a predetermined time for which an initialization processing of the control apparatus is executed.

Abstract: Rolling engine start-stop (RESS) system and methods for a vehicle include a set of sensors configured to measure a set of operating parameters of the vehicle comprising at least (i) driver input via brake pedal of the vehicle, (ii) vehicle speed, and (iii) a steering angle of the vehicle and a controller configured to, based on the set of operating parameters, determine a target vehicle speed for stopping an engine of the vehicle, and based on the steering angle of the vehicle, selectively stopping the engine of the vehicle when the vehicle speed falls to the determined target vehicle speed, wherein stopping the engine of the vehicle at the determined target vehicle speed decreases noise/vibration/harshness (NVH) caused by stopping the engine.

Abstract: A system for automatically adjusting the temperature and carbon monoxide level in an occupied passenger compartment of a vehicle includes sensors for sensing carbon monoxide levels, temperature, and occupants in the passenger compartment. A controller receives input from the sensors, and activates an electric heater or an electric cooler to bring the temperatures within the passenger compartment within a predetermined temperature range if the temperature detected within the passenger compartment falls outside of the predetermined range of temperatures. The controller may automatically shut off the engine of the vehicle when the vehicle is in idle and the carbon monoxide level within the passenger compartment falls above a predetermined level, or if a transmission lever of the vehicle is placed in a park position. A motor generator unit coupled to the engine provides electricity to rechargeable batteries of an alternate power unit, which powers the electric heater and the electric cooler.

Abstract: A control system for a hybrid electric vehicle comprises a transmission system configured to drive wheels, an engine power subsystem connected to the transmission system, a motor power subsystem connected to the transmission system and a control module. When vehicle's electrical power is on, the control module is configured to control operating mode of the hybrid electric vehicle through the engine power subsystem and the motor power subsystem. The operating mode comprises HEV-eco mode and HEV-s mode. When the hybrid electric vehicle operates in HEV-eco and the hybrid electric vehicle operates at low power or when the hybrid electric vehicle operates in HEV-s mode and when the vehicle speed is zero, the control module enables the hybrid electric vehicle to operate by idle start-stop strategy.

Abstract: A technique for simplifying the structure of an idling stop device. The idling stop device 100 includes a deceleration detector 200 which detects decelerations of a vehicle. The idling stop device 100 also includes an estimation part 350 which acquires, based on the deceleration detected by the deceleration detector 200, first deceleration when a vehicle is decelerated to a preset speed of less. Based on the acquired first deceleration, the estimation part 350 estimates a first brake pressure applied to the vehicle when the vehicle is decelerated to the preset speed or less.
