摘要: Biocompatible tissue repair implant devices and their methods of use are provided for repairing a diseased kidney tissue. The present invention relates to methods of removing a portion of kidney tissue from a host or donor, mincing it, placing it on a bioresorbable scaffold, and implanting the scaffold into a defect site in a kidney of a host or patient for use in the treatment of degenerative kidney diseases. The compositions and methods provide a pluripotent milieu for the de-novo generation of renal tubular structures in the replacement of diseased kidney tissue. The processes and devices are useful in the treatment of medical conditions and diseases relating to the kidneys such as trauma, necrosis, and both acute and chronic forms of renal failure.

摘要: An implantable biodegradable porous fibrous matrix is disclosed, the fibrous matrix being constructed of fibers arranged in a nonwoven array. The density of the nonwoven array is adjusted in the manufacturing process to obtain an optimum density of the array for tissue ingrowth. When implanted, the optimum density fibrous matrix provides for a superior biological response of the host in terms of tissue growth, especially for tissues containing glycosaminoglycans (GAGs). The optimum density fibrous matrix is therefore provided with properties useful in repair and/or regeneration of mammalian tissue.
