摘要: Assemblies of one or more implant structures make possible the achievement of diverse interventions involving the fusion and/or stabilization of the SI-joint and/or lumbar and sacral vertebra in a non-invasive manner, with minimal incision, and without the necessitating the removing the intervertebral disc. The representative lumbar spine interventions, which can be performed on adults or children, include, but are not limited to, SI-joint fusion or fixation; lumbar interbody fusion; translaminar lumbar fusion; lumbar facet fusion; trans-iliac lumbar fusion; and the stabilization of a spondylolisthesis.

摘要: The present invention relates to an implant consisting of a surface layer consisting of fibres and a matrix, having a first surface and a second surface opposite each other, and having a thickness that is at most 5% of the largest dimension of said surface layer; a porous biodegradable part having a first surface and a second surface opposite each other, wherein its first surface is attached to the second surface of the surface layer and having a thickness of 1-8 mm; and a membrane layer made of collage having a first surface and a second surface opposite each other, wherein its first surface is attached to the second surface of the porous part without covering the edges of the porous part; wherein its first surface is attached to the second surface of the porous part wherein the porous part comprises material selected from the group consisting of bioactive glass, bioactive ceramic, hydroxyapatite, tricalciumphosphate and mixtures thereof.

摘要: A modular anchor bone fusion cage is provided. The cage includes a spacer configured to fit into a space between the faces of two bones that are to be fused together. A fusion plate having at least a main body portion is coupled to the spacer by a connector. Fasteners extend through the fusion plate to engage the bone. At least some of the fasteners also extend through the spacer to engage the opposed faces of the bone. A cover plate is coupled to the fusion plate to inhibit the fasteners from backing out prior to fusion of the bones.

摘要: A femoral component having a modular stem is discussed. While the femoral component can have any suitable characteristic, in some cases, it includes an external articular surface and an internal surface. While the stem can have any characteristic, in some cases, it includes a proximal end and a distal end. Although the femoral component and stem can attach to a femur in any suitable manner, in some cases, the stem is inserted into the femur's intramedullary canal. In some cases, the femoral component is then: slid onto a resectioned portion of the femur at an angle between 20 and 80 degrees with respect to a longitudinal axis of the femur's distal portion, by rolling the femoral component onto the resectioned portion, or in any other suitable manner. In some cases, the distal end of the stem is then permanently fixed to the femoral component's internal surface. Other implementations are described.

摘要: An interbody spinal implant including a body having a top surface, a bottom surface, opposing lateral sides, and opposing anterior and posterior portions. At least a portion of the top surface, the bottom surface, or both surfaces has a roughened surface topography including both micro features and nano features, without sharp teeth that risk damage to bone structures, adapted to grip bone through friction generated when the implant is placed between two vertebrae and to inhibit migration of the implant. The roughened surface topography typically further includes macro features and the macro features, micro features, and nano features overlap. Also disclosed are methods of using such implants and processes of fabricating a roughened surface topography on a surface of an implant. The process includes separate and sequential macro processing, micro processing, and nano processing steps.

摘要: Embodiments described herein are related to pellets that are placed within an extraction site that is in need of bone augmentation and preservation. The pellets are typically cylindrical in shape and comprise a material and a polymer coating. The goal of the pellets are to encourage sufficient new bone growth that jaw bone deterioration is prevented. The pellets create, arrange, and assemble an ideal growth environment for new bone growth to rapidly grow and preserve the original contours of an individual's jaw bone.

摘要: An intervertebral implant for insertion into an intervertebral disc space between adjacent vertebral bodies or between two bone portions. The implant includes a spacer portion, a plate portion operatively coupled to the spacer portion and one or more blades for securing the implant to the adjacent vertebral bodies. The blades preferably include superior and inferior cylindrical pins for engaging the adjacent vertebral bodies. The implant may be configured to be inserted via a direct lateral trans-psoas approach. Alternatively, the implant may be configured for insertion via an anterior approach.

摘要: Systems and methods for providing deeper knee flexion capabilities. In some instances, such systems and methods include a knee prosthesis that includes a femoral component for replacing at least a portion of a distal end of a femur. In some cases, the femoral component has a posterior condyle that is configured to articulate against a tibial articular surface. In such cases, an articular surface at a proximal portion of the posterior condyle is sized and shaped to extend at least half of an antero-posterior distance between a most posterior portion of the posterior condyle and a plane that is a continuation of a distal one fourth to one third of a posterior cortex of a femoral shaft of the femur. Other implementations are also discussed.

摘要: Systems and methods for providing deeper knee flexion capabilities. In some instances, such systems and methods include a femoral component that is configured to replace a distal portion of a femur. In some cases, the femoral component comprises a first interior surface and a second interior surface that are each configured to contact a resected portion of the femur. Additionally, in some case, the first interior surface and the second interior surface are within about 20 degrees of being parallel with each other. Moreover, in some cases, the femoral component is configured such that when the femoral component is seated on the distal portion of the femur, the first interior surface runs at an angle between about 30 degrees and about 55 degrees with respect to a longitudinal axis of the femur. Other implementations are also discussed.
