Abstract:
A valve comprises a valve body having a fluid inlet and fluid outlet, a valve seat located in the valve body between the fluid inlet and a fluid outlet, a valve member movable towards and away from the valve seat for controlling the flow of fluid from the fluid inlet to the fluid outlet, and a PTC heater in thermal contact with the valve seat for heating the valve seat. The heater is integrated in the valve in a manner where the valve seat is used as an electrical conductor to facilitate operation and assembly of the valve, and a unique valve construction is provided for enabling self-draining to avoid accumulation of water or other liquid in the valve that might negatively impact performance of the valve.

Abstract:
Techniques for reestablishing network address associations upon recovery of a passive optical network (PON) disablement rely on storage address association information. A network node stores address association information in non-volatile memory upon detecting a network disablement. Upon recovery of the PON from the disablement, the network node associates network addresses to clients in accordance with the address association information. The network node may further verify the associations by sending ARP queries for the network addresses to the associated clients. Alternatively, the network nodes may reestablish the address associations by tracking the length of time of the network disablement, and updating address association information in accordance with the length of the disablement.
Abstract:
A fuel cell system (10) is adapted for positioning within a well (W) dug into the ground. The subterranean fuel cell system (10) comprises a capsule (12) for insertion into the well (W) and for containing a fuel cell stack (14), fuel storage tank (16), and a BOP assembly (18). Cathode air enters the system (10) through an inlet pipe (24) and exits via an exhaust pipe (28). The remaining fluid circuitry (e.g., anode fluid circuit, cooling fluid circuit) can be located within the capsule (12) and/or below the ground level (G) whereby external plumbing, and the need for hoses, tubes, and connections, is minimized. The ground can function as a heat sink for absorbing system heat and as an insulator for preventing freezing of reactant and/or cooling water.
Abstract:
A filter assembly includes housing enclosing a replaceable filter element. A support core is provided in the housing, and includes an extension and locking assembly. The element includes a ring of filtration media with a pair of end caps. The first end cap includes a central opening to receive the support core. The extension and locking assembly prevents the cover of the housing from being attached to the housing body without a proper filter element installed. The extension and locking assembly includes a bypass member and a locking member, which are in locking engagement when an element is absent in the housing. The second end cap includes internal protrusions which engage the locking member when the filter element is installed to disengage the bypass member from the support core, and allow the element to be inserted and the cover to be installed.
