    摘要: An exhaust gas passageway of an internal combustion engine is basically provided with a main exhaust passageway, a bypass exhaust passageway, a bypass catalytic converter provided in the bypass exhaust passageway, a bypass control valve, an upstream air-fuel ratio sensor and a downstream air-fuel ratio sensor. The bypass exhaust passageway bypasses a portion of the main exhaust passageway between an upstream junction and a downstream junction. The bypass control valve opens or closes a portion of the main exhaust passageway. The upstream air-fuel ratio sensor is disposed upstream of the bypass catalytic converter to sense air-fuel ratio of an exhaust gas flowing into the bypass catalytic converter. The downstream air-fuel ratio sensor is disposed downstream of the bypass catalytic converter to sense air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas flowing out of the bypass catalytic converter.

    摘要: An internal combustion engine includes a main catalyst disposed in a main passage and a bypass catalyst disposed in a bypass passage bypassing the main passage on an upstream side of the main catalyst. The bypass passage has a smaller transverse cross-sectional area than the main passage. The internal combustion engine further includes a passage open/close unit, a residual gas amount changing unit, and a controller. The passage open/close unit is disposed in a portion of the main passage bypassed by the bypass passage to switch between an open state and a closed state. The residual gas amount changing unit is configured to change an amount of residual gas inside a combustion chamber. The controller is configured to control the residual gas amount changing unit when a passage opening condition for switching the passage open/close unit from the closed state to the open state is satisfied.

    摘要: An internal combustion engine includes a main catalyst disposed in a main passage and a bypass catalyst disposed in a bypass passage bypassing the main passage on an upstream side of the main catalyst. The bypass passage has a smaller transverse cross-sectional area than the main passage. The internal combustion engine further includes a passage open/close unit, a residual gas amount changing unit, and a controller.     摘要: An apparatus for an exhaust gas system includes a main exhaust passage, a main catalytic converter disposed in the main exhaust passage, a bypass exhaust passage, a bypass catalytic converter disposed in the bypass exhaust passage, and a valve configured to open or close a section of the main exhaust passage. The bypass exhaust passage bypasses the main exhaust passage between a branch point of the bypass exhaust passage out of the main exhaust passage and a junction with the main exhaust passage at a upstream side of the main catalytic converter. A first sensor indicates a first air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas in the bypass exhaust passage. A second sensor indicates a second air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas flowing into the main catalytic converter. A controller determines whether the valve in the closed configuration leaks exhaust gas based on the first and second air-fuel ratios of exhaust gas.

    摘要: An air-fuel ratio control system for an internal combustion engine provided with a NOx trap catalyst which is disposed in an exhaust gas passageway and arranged to trap NOx when the air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas flowing to the NOx trap catalyst is lean and to release and reduce trapped NOx when the air-fuel ratio is rich. The air-fuel ratio control system comprises a sensor for detecting an air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas in the exhaust gas passageway downstream of the NOx trap catalyst. Additionally, a control circuit is provided and configured to cause the engine to operate at a rich air-fuel ratio to accomplish a rich air-fuel ratio engine operation after an engine operation at a lean air-fuel ratio, and continue the rich air-fuel ratio engine operation for a duration even after the sensor has detected that the air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas is rich.

    摘要: There is provided an oscillator using a high-frequency crystal resonator which can satisfy the drive level needed for the crystal resonator and expand a variable frequency range. An oscillator having an oscillation circuit CC for oscillating the resonator SS is provided with a limiter circuit LM1 as a load of the resonator SS which is inductive and is a load circuit for limiting an oscillation amplitude. According to this configuration, the action of the limiter circuit LM1 allows satisfaction of the drive level needed for the crystal resonator and expansion of the variable frequency range.
