    Abstract: As a control of an inverter, a first pulse width modulation control switches a plurality of switching elements by generating a first pulse width modulation signal of the switching elements, and a second pulse width modulation control switches the switching elements by generating a second pulse width modulation signal of the switching elements based on a voltage modulation rate, a voltage phase, and the number of pulses per unit cycle of an electrical angle of the motor based on the torque command and has a smaller number of switchings of the switching elements than the first pulse width modulation control. The first pulse width modulation control and the second pulse width modulation control are executed in a switched manner. Execution of the second pulse width modulation control as the control of the inverter is restricted when the quietness is needed, compared with when the quietness is not needed.

    Abstract: When an absolute value of a rotation speed change rate of a motor is equal to or less than a threshold and an absolute value of a torque command change rate of the motor is equal to or less than a threshold, a switching angle is changed by cyclically changing a pulse type or the number of pulses as change in a pulse pattern. With this, respective order components of harmonics are dispersed, whereby it is possible to reduce the degree of prominence of a specific order component in harmonics relative to other order components.

    Abstract: A vehicle performs first PWM control of generating a first PWM signal of a plurality of switching elements to switch the plurality of switching elements by comparing voltage commands of phases based on a torque command with a carrier voltage when a target operating point including a rotation speed and the torque command of the motor is outside a predetermined area, and selects and performs second PWM control of generating a second PWM signal of the plurality of switching elements to switch the plurality of switching elements based on a modulation factor of a voltage and a voltage phase based on the torque command and the number of pulses in a predetermined period of an electrical angle of the motor or the first PWM control when the target operating point is inside the predetermined area.

    Abstract: A vehicle includes an electronic control unit configured to perform control of an inverter by switching a plurality of controls including: first PWM control of generating a first PWM signal of a plurality of switching elements by comparison of voltage commands of respective phases based on a torque command of a motor with a carrier voltage and switching the plurality of switching elements; and second PWM control of generating a second PWM signal of the plurality of switching elements based on a modulation factor of a voltage and a voltage phase based on the torque command and the number of pulses in a predetermined period of an electrical angle of the motor and switching the plurality of switching elements. The electronic control unit is configured to limit execution of the second PWM control when an abnormality occurs in at least one of the current sensor or the voltage sensor.

    Abstract: A driving device includes a motor, an inverter configured to drive the motor by switching a plurality of switching elements, and an electronic control unit configured to set voltage commands of phases according to temporary voltage commands of the phases based on a torque command of the motor and perform switching control of the switching elements by generating PWM signals for the switching elements by using the voltage commands of the phases and a carrier voltage. The electronic control unit is configured to switch a method of setting the voltage commands between a first method and a second method for each irregular time interval. The first method is a method of setting the voltage commands without superposing harmonics to the temporary voltage commands, and the second method is a method of setting the voltage commands by superposing the harmonics to the temporary voltage command.
