摘要:
A multilayer molded article made of a first member having a first core layer and a first skin material laminated on the first core layer, and a second member having a second core layer and a second skin material layer laminated on the second core layer, in which the first member is insert laminated in a part of the surface of the second skin material, and which is beautifully finished at a boundary between the first and second skin materials.

A hollow molded article is produced by supplying a molten resin between a pair of a fixed mold and a movable mold before the fixed mold and the movable mold are closed, inserting at least one gas-supplying pin which is provided on a surface of the fixed mold to form a hollow part in a part of the resin and supplying pressurized gas through said gas-supplying pin before the mold closing is finished, closing the movable mold to fill the resin in a cavity formed by the molds, slightly opening the molds while pressurizing a gas in the resin to expand the hollow part and opening the movable mold to remove a hollow molded article from the molds.

A multilayer molded article with good appearance is produced by supplying a skin material and a melt of a thermoplastic resin between unclosed upper and lower molds and simultaneously molding the thermoplastic resin to form a molded article and laminating the skin material on a part of a surface of the molded article by pressing and cooling the thermoplastic resin in the molds, in which the lower mold has a protruding part at a position where an edge of the skin material is located, the upper mold has a depressed part at a position corresponding to the protruding part of the lower mold, and, during molding, the edge of the skin material is fixed to the lower mold by sucking it through a gap which opens at the root of the protruding part.

A method for producing a multilayer molded article by facing a preheating panel on which a preheated skin material is placed towards one of upper and lower molds, forming a closed space by the mold and the preheating panel, evacuating the closed space to suck the skin material onto a surface of the mold, removing the preheating panel, supplying a resin through a resin conduit with closing the molds or temporarily stopping mold closing, and finishing the mold closing. By this method, a multilayer molded article having a resin body which is made by deep drawing or has a complicated shape and a skin material laminated on a surface of the resin body can be produced.

A method of forming a multilayer molded article with improved appearance having a core of a thermoplastic resin and a skin material laminated on the resin core, in which the skin material is made of a fabric which is lined with a nonwoven fabric having a weight of at least 50 g/m.sup.2 and an elongation at break of 20% to 80% and optionally has an intermediate foam layer between the fabric and the nonwoven fabric.

Press molding is carried out by using a mold having a nozzle which opens and closes a molten resin passage provided in an upper half or a lower half and which is located 10-100 mm below a mold cavity side surface of the half, by supplying a thermoplastic resin to a cavity between the respective upper half and the lower half which is not closed and by clamping the mold. Thus, a molded article having a good appearance can be produced even when a molding cycle is short.

A molded article of a thermoplastic resin with good apperance which may have a skin material is produced by providing upper and lower molds having a product part-molding section and a non-product part-molding section, supplying a melt of a thermoplastic resin in a cavity of the molds or a space between the skin material and either one of the upper and lower molds through a resin melt passage which is formed in a wall of one of the molds and has an opening for supplying the melt in the non-product part-molding section when a clearance of the cavity is larger than a thickness of a finally produced article, closing the molds to effect press molding, cooling the molds.

A fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin shaped article is prepared by supplying a preheated fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin sheet between upper and lower molds, positioning the upper and lower molds so that a clearance between the upper and lower molds at the time of the completion of mold clamping is larger than a thickness of the unpreheated fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin sheet, and supplying a molten thermoplastic resin in a recess provided in at least one of the upper and lower molds through a resin passage provided in the mold so that a portion formed from the molten thermoplastic resin in the recess is integrated by fusion with a portion formed from the fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin sheet. The article is light-weight and also has a rib, a boss or any other projection.

A mold for compression molding a resin article, which mold consists of male and female molds, wherein, at the time of complete mold closing, the length L in a mold closing direction of a mated part formed between the outermost wall of said male mold and the innermost wall of said female mold satisfies the equation: (t1−t0+10)mm≧L≧(t1−t0)mm wherein t1 is a distance (mm) between the male and female molds when the resin melt first reaches the mating outermost edge of the male mold, and t0 is a distance (mm) in the mold closing direction between the same points on the male and female molds as those used for measuring t1 when the mold closing is complete, and the horizontal distance of a mating gap between the outermost wall surface of said male mold and the innermost wall surface of said female mold is from 0.02 to 0.1 mm, with which mold, squeeze-out of a resin melt during molding is prevented.
