    摘要: An image pickup apparatus in which when a decision button is depressed, a transfer confirmation screen is displayed without recording a selection record, and, when a shortcut button is depressed, a selection record is recorded and the transfer confirmation screen is not displayed. When one of image data recorded in a storage medium is selected by an operation of a user, a reproduction module executes reproduction for display of the image data, and upon a user transfer instruction and acceptance of the instruction by a queue, a communication module transfers image data to an external apparatus. When one of other image data recorded in the storage medium is selected by a user operation in the course of a transfer process of the image data by the communication module, the reproduction module executed a reproduction process on the selected other image data.

    摘要: If a request of handle information to identify data existing in a recording medium is made to a digital camera by a PC, the digital camera collects the data existing in the recording medium by accessing a file system, generates unique handle information independent of the file system on the basis of a file path of the file system, and transmits it to the PC. When the request accompanied by the handle information is received from the PC, the digital camera executes a file path restoring process to the handle information, thereby restoring the file path which depends on the file system in the digital camera, retrieves the requested file by using the obtained file path, and transmits the data to the PC. According to this arrangement, installation costs can be suppressed by making an identification information management table unnecessary even while identification information which is independent of a logical data management system is used.

    摘要: An image input device connects to a network, and achieves, when a user wants to connect to a particular communication counterpart by operating the image input device, reliable connection with the counterpart that the user wants to connect by smoothly avoiding connection with other communication counterparts. Meanwhile, if the user wants to connect to the image input device by operating an information processor, connection with a communication counterpart which has issued a connection request earliest is achieved without operation of the image input device. For example, a digital camera has a wireless communication function of wirelessly connecting to a PC (personal computer), which is an information processor. Pairing information for identifying a PC to be a communication counterpart is set in advance, by connecting to the PC via a USB cable. When the start of connection with the PC is instructed, the digital camera transitions into a state capable of wireless connection with the PC based on the set pairing information.
