摘要: A valve operating system of an internal combustion engine enabling both valve working angle and phase to be varied, includes a variable working angle control mechanism being responsive to a supply pressure of working fluid to adjust a working angle of an intake valve, and a variable phase control mechanism being responsive to a supply pressure of working fluid to adjust a phase of the working angle of the intake valve. A control unit controls the supply pressure to each of the control mechanisms depending on engine operating conditions. In a cold-engine state that the temperature of working fluid is below a predetermined temperature, an intake valve open timing is retarded in comparison with a predetermined stability-limit valve open timing, by limiting a controlled variable of at least one of the control mechanisms.

摘要: A control system for an internal combustion engine having a variable valve operating mechanism capable of varying at least one of a valve lift and an operation angle of an engine valve continuously is provided. The control system comprises a detecting device that detects an operating condition of the variable valve operating mechanism and produces a signal representative thereof, and a controller that controls the operating condition of the variable valve operating mechanism in response to the signal from the detecting device. The controller is programmed to determine whether an operation responsiveness of the variable valve operating mechanism is lowered based on the signal from the detecting device and vary operational characteristics of the variable valve operating mechanism when the operation responsiveness of the variable valve operating mechanism is lowered. A control method is also provided.

摘要: Intake valve drive shaft and exhaust valve drive shaft are arranged in parallel to each other and provided with sprockets, respectively, for receiving engine rotation from a crank shaft. A rocker cam is swingably mounted on the intake valve drive shaft to push the intake valve, and connected mechanically by a link mechanism with the intake valve drive shaft. The axis of the intake valve drive shaft is offset from the axis of the intake valve to one side. The rocker cam includes a cam nose which projects to the other side of the axis of the intake valve when the intake valve is in the closed state.

The control unit feedback-controls an air-fuel ratio of the engine on the basis of the exhaust parameter and corrects the operation angle on the basis of the exhaust parameter.

摘要: A first variable valve actuating mechanism varies an operating angular range of an intake valve, a second variable valve actuating mechanism varies a center angle of the operating angular range, and a control unit controls, through the first and second variable valve actuating mechanisms, the operating angular range and the center angle in accordance with an operation condition of the engine. The control unit is configured to carry out, in a low-output operation range of the engine, advancing the center angle with increase of the engine output while making the variation of the center angle larger than that of the operating angular range; and in a middle-output operation range of the engine, increasing the operating angular range with increase of the engine output while making the variation of the operating angular range larger than that of the center angle.
