    摘要: A torsional vibration damping apparatus which operates between the crankshaft of the engine and the input shaft of the transmission in a motor vehicle has two flywheels which are rotatable relative to each other against the opposition of one or more dampers installed in a fluid-containing chamber of the flywheel which is connected to the crankshaft. The chamber has one or two annular compartments for the coil springs of the damper or dampers, and such coil springs are caused to store energy by a flange which is connected to the flywheel that drives the input shaft of the transmission and by integral or separately produced stops-of the flywheel which is connected with the crankshaft. The flange cooperates with the respective flywheel to form a flow restrictor which opposes the flow of fluid from and into the compartment or compartments of the chamber in response to expansion or contraction of the coil springs.

    摘要: An apparatus for transmitting torque between the output element of an internal combustion engine and the input element of a variable-speed transmission in a motor vehicle has a first flywheel which is screwed or bolted to the output element and a second flywheel which is coaxial with and rotatable relative to the first flywheel and is connected to the input element by the clutch plate of a friction clutch. One or more dampers are provided in a lubricant-containing annular chamber of the first flywheel to oppose rotation of the flywheels relative to each other, and each damper has an annulus of arcuate coil springs acting in the circumferential direction of the flywheels. The cover of the clutch has stressing arms which extend into the chamber and engage the springs.

    摘要: A torque transmitting apparatus which can be used in the power train between the prime mover and the transmission of a motor vehicle has a first flywheel connectable to the prime mover, a second flywheel coaxial with and receiving torque from the first flywheel by way of a damper, and a friction clutch which can be engaged to transmit torque between the second flywheel and the input element of the transmission. The energy storing elements of the damper and the bearing between the two flywheels are installed radially inwardly of the friction surfaces of the second flywheel and the axially movable pressure plate of the friction clutch. This renders it possible to reduce at least the radial dimensions of the apparatus without reducing the diameters of the friction surfaces.

    摘要: A torsional vibration damper has primary and secondary masses rotatable with and relative to each other about a common axis, and a torsionally elastic damper which opposes rotation of the masses relative to each other and operates in series with a torque limiting device. The latter comprises a pair of ring-shaped lateral members flanking a ring-shaped intermediate member which can stress the energy storing elements of the torsionally elastic damper. One of the lateral members is a prestressed diaphragm spring which is riveted to the other lateral member. The maximum torque which can be transmitted by the torque limiting device is greater than the maximum torque which can be transmitted by a friction clutch between the secondary mass and the transmission of a motor vehicle. The primary mass can receive torque from the engine of the vehicle.

    摘要: A hydrokinetic torque converter has a rotary housing which is connectable to the crankshaft or camshaft of a combustion engine in a motor vehicle to drive the input shaft of the transmission. The housing confines a turbine, a pump, a stator (if necessary) and a lockup clutch between a radially extending wall of the housing and the turbine. A piston of the lockup clutch is movable in the axial direction of the housing and defines a first fluid-filled compartment with the turbine as well as a second fluid-filled compartment with the wall of the housing. The force which is required to engage, to partially disengage or to fully disengage the lockup clutch is reduced by the provision of one or more profiles on the piston and/or on a friction disc of the lockup clutch which extends or extend into the adjacent compartment or compartments to influence the speed of circulation of fluids in the respective compartments and/or the fluid pressures acting upon opposite sides of the piston. This enables a control unit to predictably and reliably change the condition of the lockup clutch (from engaged to partially engaged (slipping) to fully disengaged or in the opposite direction) in response to relatively small changes of fluid pressure in the first or in the second compartment.
